Crystal looked everywhere but there was no sign of Amber. This was, of course, nothing new, but tonight – at this party – she needed Amber next to her: she needed that strong support from her little sister. The run-in with Nicolette, and the blatant cold-shoulder from Duke, had begun to take their toll on her nerves. And now she was alone in a sea of unknowns, doing her best just to tread water.
