Astrid POV. As soon as class was over I messaged the girls to meet me in the courtyard as we all had a spare. I got there to find them chatting already. “Heyyy girl!!” Sophia squealed as she ran up to bear tackle hug me. “Hey!” I laughed. I got some crazy news. “I do too!” Zonï said with excitement. “There’s this new guy in my class, David I think his name is. Soooo hot.” She giggled. ‘Great. Another guy gonna get hurt by her.’ I thought to myself. Zonï, is well known at the school for being the typical, popular girl who goes through too many guys in a month. She is darker olive skinned with long jet black hair and dark brown with a thin hourglass figure. She is by no means ugly in any way. “There’s another new guy. Asher, I think?” Sophia pitched in. “I think he is in my History class this morning. Funny story actually.” I trailed off. “He looks just like you?” Bella asked Sarcastically while still being somewhat serious. “Yea. How’d you know? Did you meet him already?” I asked now curious. “No, but Alex said he’s gonna be the football Quarterback this year and happened to make that observation.” She replied nonchalantly. ‘Great. Just what we need. Another playboy jock.’ We already have 25 football players. We don’t need any more. Before we knew it, our spare and lunch periods were over. I parted ways from the girls and started making my way to my next class which happened to be my favourite class. P.E. Most girls hate it. But I love the physical aspect of it. Especially when we are out side, which I am so happy we are. I quickly made my way to the change room and threw on my gym cloths before heading out to the track field where the rest of my class was. “Let’s warm up!” The teacher said while leading some basic stretches. About 15 minutes in, two guys came tumbling down the hill towards us. One of them being the guy from History class earlier. The other I don’t know. “Glad to see you both could make it.” The teacher said sarcastically acknowledging their late arrival. “Sorry sir.” One of them said. But my focus was drawn to the taller one. There was something about him that just leaped out at me. He caught me staring and we made eye contact. “Mate.” I thought I heard him say but his lips didn’t move. The other guy looked at his friend in shock and immediately pulled the one I was staring at to the back of the group away from were I was. ‘That was odd.’ I thought not thinking much of it. “Need to run!!” I suddenly heard. But when I looked around, no one was talking. “Run now!” And then it was like something came over my body and I started sprinkling at speeds I didn’t know I could reach. “Excellent form Miss Hutchins.” I heard the teacher shout from across the track. It took some time but I finally gained control again and stopped to get some water. The two guys were watching my every move the whole time during the rest of class. It was so weird and uncomfortable. Something about them screamed danger but also safety at the same time. Towards the end while we’re doing our cool down, I found myself beside the taller one. “Hi” he said quietly not wanting the teacher to catch him. “Sorry about earlier. I’m David.” He introduced himself. “Im Astrid.” I replied smiling. “Im sorry for staring, but I think you are beautiful and would like to take you out later tonight.” He said looking over at me. “I just learned your name.” I fired back. Aren’t you gonna flirt with my first?” I questioned jokingly. He smiled at me little antic. “If that’s what you want me to do than sure. In 2 days, I’ll ask again.” He replied playing along. We can talk more after class. I slipped him my number and made my way to the changing room to shower before going home for the day. As I was leaving the school, my look alike caught up to me as I was walking to my car. “We need to talk.” He stated not even properly introducing himself. “Hi, I’m Astrid. Nice to meet you too.” I said glaring at him. “Sorry. Asher. Now can we talk?” He said clearly not wanting to deal with formalities. I sighed. “Fine. Meet me at the shake shop at 7.” Said as I kept walking. “Brother!” I heard the same voice from earlier, but again, no one was around. “You hear her don’t you?” He asked noticing my confusion. “Hear who?” I asked. “Your wolf.” He said calmly trying to not cause a scene. “My what?” I said half laughing. “Your wolf?” He asked clearly in shock my be not knowing what he meant. “Look, I don’t know what your talking. About. But I don’t have a wolf.” I said plan confused. “Yes you do. I can smell her.” He said trying to put prices together. “HAHA What? I smell like a filthy dog! Is that really how you compliment girls?!” I snapped. Not caring what else he has to say, I turned back around and got to my truck before driving off. I couldn’t help but think about what that guy said. “Your wolf?” His words replying in my mind over and over again as I drove. When I got home, dad was already home making supper. “Hey princess!” He called from the kitchen. “How was school?” “Fine I guess. 2 new kids joined us.” I responded not wanting to spend too much time in the topic. “That’s cool! We’re they nice?” He asked. “One was. The other was kinda rude.” I said trying to end the conversation. “That’s too bad. There’s always tomorrow!” He said bringing in a plate of food for me. “Just so you know, I told a friend I would meet up with them at the shake shop later. Just to hang out.” I said not looking up from my meal. “Nice. Have fun.” He said as he finished eating and went to start cleaning up. ‘This guy better have a good story to tell.’ I thought, walking out the door.
