Asher pov.
“ugh. Another Monday morning.” I groaned annoyed that I have to get up. I start at the human High School today. As the next alpha, it’s pack tradition that the next Alpha and Beta attend one year of school in the human world instead of in the pack. I had to leave my girl friend behind at my last pack school. As much as I wanted to bring her, it’s too dangerous. The more wolves in contact with humans, the more likely we are to be exposed. Only the Alpha is allowed to have consistent contact. Which will be me as of next June. So I’ve got a long ways. It’s only September. I got dressed and went to the kitchen to grab some breakfast before meeting David out at the SUV. “Hey man.” David said greeting me. “Sup?” I replied. “Are ya ready for the human experience?” He teased as we climbed in and drove off. As we approached the school my wolf started stirring. “Mate is close!” Axel said. “Do you see her?” I asked exited. “Dude, my wolf just said my mate is near!” I told David with nervousness. “Really? So did mine. Just now.” He replied. “Strange. I wonder if both our mates are human then?” I questioned. “What are you going to do about Vanessa?” David asked looking at me. “Shoot, I forgot about her. I don’t know.” I said with the realization that it isn’t going to look good. “You need to break it off. I never liked her anyways. She is always using you for your status and money. She doesn’t actually care about you.” He said with a worried tone. “Yea. I thought dating her was a good idea at the time. I thought she was my mate, but I haven’t seen her yet today so.” I replied with a down expression. Us wolves can’t start looking for our mates until we turn 17. So before today, I could only take my chances with luck that Vanessa was my mate. But apparently not.
As we pulled up to the school, we were greeted by a few of the other students who noticed us and helps us find the office to get our classes situated. It wasn’t hard as the school was basically a multi layered circle with the out door courtyard in the middle. As we walked through the halls, I noticed that every girl we passed was starting at us. Not all that surprising. I am 6’2” with dark brownish red hair and grey eyes and a strong medium build. I wasn’t too hard on the eyes. David is 6’4”, with light brown hair and green eyes with a larger muscular build. I noticed that we were taller than many of the other male students. I don’t know if that just because we are different species, or if it’s just us being oddly tall compared to them. We made our way too our classes which were across the hall from each other. “I’ve got History first. You?” I asked. “Math. With Mr, Warden.” Yikes. Sounds like it’s gonna be a fun term for ya haha.” I joked punching his arm. “Yea whatever.” He said brushing it off before walking toward the bathroom just down the hall. About 10 minutes after the final bell rang, a girl walked into the room.
‘Sister!!’ My wolf cried. “What are you going on about?’’ I questioned. “Sister!!” He said again with too much enthusiasm. “Dude, what?” I asked again. “Go to sister!!” He wined. “Not right now! After class!” I snapped back and closed my mind off to him. “Emergency!” I mind linked to David. “What’s up?!” He replied with the same urgency. “There is a chick in my class that looks identical to me!?” I told him still in pure confusion. “Hold up? What?” He asked just as confused. “Meet me after class.” I said closing the link trying to focus on class.
Class seemed drag on more than normal. I can’t seem to focus. I can’t help but glance at the girl. that chick who looks exactly like me. Just shorter and longer hair. But something about her seems extremely familiar. I’ll talk to David later. See what his 2 cents are on the whole predicament.
As soon as class ended I bolted out of the room to find David. As soon as I did, he immediately started sniffing the air. “What?” I asked concerned. “My mate. I can smell her. She is really close by. Or was just a moment ago.” He replied looking around, but there were too many students moving around to tell exactly who it was he was referring too. “The girl. She looked identical to me. Hair and all. She even was almost as tall. Maybe 4 inches shorter.” I said changing the topic back to why I needed to talk to him in the first place. “Next time you see her, point her out.” He demanded. “I don’t think I’ll need too.” I replied not sure what else to say. ‘How much crazier can this day get?’
