"Alex." Josie stood up from her chair at the fireplace and moved towards him. "Did he...? Did you explain...?"
He looked at her.
"No." He murmured through numb lips.
"Then I am going to him." She elbowed past him toward the open door but then Alex was there, right in front of her, blocking her exit. She looked at him with a frustrated expression.
