Chapter 7: The Grand Stage & The Public Promise Two months later. The National High School Esports Championship Arena was an ocean of roaring noise, flashing lights, and brilliant purple spotlight beams. Over eight thousand spectators packed the stands, while millions watched the official livestream online. On the center stage, inside the glass soundproof booths, the final game of the championship rematch was reaching its c****x: TEAM ECLIPSE VS. TEAM TITAN. In the front row of the VIP audience section, Yu Xin sat clutching her hands against her chest. She watched the central LED screen overhead. This was not the same Team Eclipse that had lost in the rain months ago. Under the tactical strategies, vision protocols, and rotation patterns she and Lu Chen had built together, the team operated with absolute, terrifying precision. “LOOK AT THAT ROTATION!” the main caster screamed through the arena sound system. “Lu Chen predicts the ambush in the dragon pit! Team Eclipse turns the fight—FOUR KILLS! THEY ARE PUSHING THE BASE!” The screen flashed in brilliant gold light: VICTORY – TEAM ECLIPSE WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP! The stadium exploded into deafening, earth-shaking cheers. Gold confetti poured down from the rafters like shimmering rain, coating the stage in light. Inside the booth, Xiao Bai, Zhou Yuan, and Lin Feng leapt out of their seats, hugging each other and screaming in triumph. Lu Chen stood up slowly. He took off his headset, but his eyes didn't look at the massive gold trophy resting on the center pedestal. He grabbed the desk microphone, stepped out of the soundproof booth, and walked directly to the front edge of the main stage. The arena noise quieted slightly as his face appeared on the giant four-sided screen above the crowd. "Before we lift this trophy," Lu Chen’s clear, steady voice echoed through the loudspeakers, "there is someone who needs to be up here with us." He looked directly into the front row, locking his eyes onto Yu Xin. "Two months ago, our team was broken. We lost our confidence and our direction," Lu Chen spoke softly into the microphone, his usual cold demeanor entirely gone, replaced by an open, unshakeable warmth. "A very special person showed us how to rebuild. She spent countless late nights analyzing our mistakes, building our strategies, and believing in us when we didn't believe in ourselves." The crowd began to whisper excitedly, light sticks waving in the air. Lu Chen extended his hand over the stage railing toward her. "Yu Xin, come up here." Xin’s breath caught. Her cheeks flushed a deep, bright pink as the main spotlight swung away from the trophy and focused entirely on her. Encouraged by the cheering crowd around her, she walked up the side stage stairs. She stepped onto the main stage under the falling gold confetti. Lu Chen walked up to her, taking her small, trembling hand in his front of thousands of screaming fans and live broadcast cameras. With his free hand, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a velvet box. He opened it to reveal the silver star pendant. He had taken the broken pieces to the city’s finest silversmith, having the crystal star recut and bound together with delicate gold inlay—a traditional kintsugi repair that made the broken piece even stronger and more beautiful than before. Xin gasped softly, her eyes filling with tears of pure joy. Lu Chen stepped behind her, gently moving her hair aside, and clasped the restored silver star securely around her neck once again. He stepped back around to face her, looking down into her eyes with a smile that took her breath away. He raised the microphone to his lips one last time, speaking clearly for the entire world to hear: "You fixed our team, and you changed my life. Yu Xin... will you be my girlfriend?" The entire stadium erupted into wild, thunderous cheers. Tears spilled over Xin’s cheeks, catching the bright stage lights as she smiled with all her heart and nodded firmly. "Yes! Yes, Lu Chen!" Lu Chen pulled her into his arms, wrapping his jacket around her shoulder as he lifted her slightly into a warm, triumphant embrace under the falling confetti—holding her tight as the arena cheered for their victory and the beginning of their forever.
