CHAPTER 25 Maddie stared at the blood dripping onto the floor of the boat. Black spots crowded at the edge of her vision. With all she’d endured over the last twenty-four hours, she held onto a stubborn pride that she hadn’t fainted or become hysterical. But this last assault, hearing all those bits of metal pinging at high speed all around her, seeing them open up holes in all they hit—it was too much.
