Chapter 5

Alexia POV

At exactly 8pm the hall was well packed and the Alpha King and his men arrived an hour earlier. I was done with every chores I had for the day and all my body ache real bad, I needed to stretch my bones so I headed for the forest, just to rest for a bit since I can't shift for now because I was too weak and malnourished. I was sitting on a log when I heard a sound and caught the scent of Early morning dew drop but weird because it hasn't rained for days now and that scent calmed my nerves and made me feel what I haven't felt in a long time safe.

Then I felt Flame looking up and she said a word that froze me "MATE", that's when I saw Beta Michael walking towards me with a smirk and said, "Oh, how long I have waited to do this little mate, he spat at me and said those horrifying words that crashed the little hope left in my battered body.

"I MICHAEL THORNE REJECT YOU ALEXIA JAMES AS MY MATE". He said smiling, the Moon Goddess must be insane to pair you with me. Pain was all I felt as the bond came crashing and he left me there, broken and hurt. Flame went quiet, I was scared I might lose her, that's when she said, "I'm fine Alexia just needs to rest" and she went mute. I dragged myself to the basement and that's when I blacked out.

Beta Michael POV

Today's the slave's birthday and I anticipated how I was going to look into her face and reject that b***h. The hall was already packed and unmated wolves moved around to look for their mates but the one person I'm looking for was nowhere to be seen. I went into the basement where she slept but she wasn't there so I followed her scent and located her in the forest, sitting on a log alone. I saw her perked up. Maybe she already perceived my scent and knew I was her mate, which was perfect making the rejection more easier. I loved the way fear creeped into her when she realised I was her mate. Then I said the words that I have practiced for 2 years “I MICHAEL THORNE REJECT YOU ALEXIA JAMES AS MY MATE” I said smiling and left her to feel the pain she rightfully deserved.

Alpha King Harrison POV

I freshened up and came downstairs to see the hall already packed with several she wolves and other males, but my mate's scent wasn't there. Maybe she's running late, I thought. But that's when I felt a sharp pain claw my chest, my wolf perked up, "Mate is hurt", "find mate NOW", he roared.

I left Alpha Zender and the same wolf that greeted us earlier when we arrived and followed the pull to the far end of the hall, and I came face to face with a door and the pull felt strong and I knew my mate was behind that door. I pushed it open and to my shock, I saw my mate lying on the floor with tears dripping from her face, looking frail and hurt. There's when I looked around the room and noticed it was a storage room and her scent was at its strongest here. Shadow then said, "I will burn down this pack if my mate is sleeping here", and I seconded him.

I raised my mate from the floor and kept her on what I suppose is her bed, I cleaned her face with my thumb, and took her pain away, Yes I'm an old wolf with powers, one of which is to take away pain from anyone, at that moment she looked more calm and took a deep breathe and slept peacefully and I muttered to her, "sleep well my queen, tomorrow everything will fall in its rightful place", and I left her room and mindlinked Lucian, I have seen her, she's hurt and this pack is in for hell tomorrow.

Alexia POV

It was already 5am when I woke up and I stretched my bones, waiting to feel the usual sharp pains, but for the first time in 4 years I felt no pain instead I felt relieved. I was shocked and mindlinked my wolf, "Flame are you there?" I asked and she responded "Yes, mate was here", "that's weird he already rejected us or was he here to gloat", I asked her. "Not Michael, but our true mate", she said I kept quiet, "Hey, Flame don't go cold on me, what do you mean not Michael but true mate, I thought Michael was our mate?" But I was met with silence, "Oh come on please", I begged her to make puppy eyes at her but she just chuckled and said, "it's almost time for these hungry wolves to wake up, aren't you making breakfast?" That's when I remembered and hurried into the kitchen not bothering to shower. But I told her this discussion is far from over, which she laughed off and went silent again.
