27 From Dale’s spot in the rear, the meeting room sank like a shallow bowl. The bright lights over the presentation table in the bottom made the rest of the room seem dark. Behind the table hung a screen, ready to show his slides to whoever decided to stay. Dale’s heart beat a little too fast, but after yesterday’s shocks it seemed that giving a talk wasn’t worth a shot of adrenaline. Too bad. That bright copper taste would beat the Sand and Putty Protein Bar that scummed his tongue. Besides, he wouldn’t have a big crowd.
