It had taken longer than I'd thought to get back home but I had taken a route far away from the town. I heard the river running and I knew if I followed it, it would lead me back home. I smelled the wild lavender underbrush indicating we weren't far now. The red pines evergreens creating the perfect highways for small creatures.

I put out my arms and twirled. I wanted to smell every smell and remember every tree. Adams pulled out a blanket and laid it on a soft patch of grass. My least heat wave peak was moments away.
"My Queen, would you allow me to patrol your perimeter and strengthen your marks claiming it as yours"

"Let me do it now, for you, it would please me"
