Chapter five Feeling like a bad leader

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing I then press the button to turn it off and sit up in bed and stretch I then grab my phone and read my emails and texts and missed calls.

As I go through my phone I see a voicemail from my mum the day before she died I the clock onto the voicemail and listen to it.

Voicemail message

Hi sweetheart it’s mum I was just wondering what flavour ice cream you want your father has tasted all the damn ice creams and can not pick a flavour anyway call me back or text me what you want. me and your father loves you bye sweetheart.

Voicemail message ended

I started to feel tears run down my face hearing my mum and dad’s voice made my heart stop.

I am not crying cause I’m sad I am crying cause I am enraged I want to hunt every one of those rouge’s and feral’s till there is none left I need to study my spell book and see what spell I can use to wipe out the ones who kill my coven and make sure they die slowly and painfully.

I then get out of bed and get into the shower after I am finished in the shower I dress into gym clothes and tie my hair into a ponytail I then grab my phone off charge and head down stairs.

As I walk into the kitchen I see the kids eating their breakfast laughing and playing games at the table I am glad that they are having fun kids are so brave and resilient.

I then grab some food for myself and sit with the kids and just watch them I know that’s weird but it gives me comfort that they are happy and having fun it’s what I need to see I then get up and put my dishes in the dishwasher then turn to the kids.

Hope “ok are you guys ready for training”

They all nod there heads and put the dishes on the counter and head outside behind me I then lead them to the training ground thankfully it’s inside I don’t want to risk being out in the open.

Just incase someone is back or still out there watch and I will not risk the kids safety no matter what which is why I am training them how to protect themselves from an an attack.

Diesel “Why do we need to train princess hope when you said you will keep us safe”

Hope “I know and I will but you guys need to know how to handle your self cause I will not always be around to keep you safe. Now get into positions”

They shake there heads and get into there positions and then we train we train for about half an hour I then tell the kids to head inside and shower then they can play I stay behind and punch the metal wall harder and harder every time I hit the wall.

I the lose myself in my head as I punch the metal wall and go back to the memory’s of seeing my covens body’s on the floor every where and my parents laying is there pool of blood and the smell of blood the metallic smell is burnt into my nose I then hear the door shut which snaps me out of my head.

I then look at my hands and they are coved in blood I then look up to see Lucy standing there looking at me in shock at the sight of my hands and she rushes over to me and looks at me with pity filled eyes.

I hate that look that’s the only look I never want to see and she was giving me that look I look at her annoyed and she sees I noticed her looking at me with pity she puts her head down and tends to my hands.

Lucy “Don’t look at me like that I have every right to be angry and worried about you”

Hope “I am not going to stand here and let you look at me with pity filled eyes you know how much I hate that look”

Lucy “Your right I am sorry I should have not made that look but I am going to kick your ass for what you did to your hands”

Hope “Love to see you try you can’t beat me and you know it you have tried many times like other and have failed to do so”

Lucy “I saw the kids they said you were training them why ? You know we will protect them”

Hope “I don’t want them to rely on me to keep them safe my parents and people did that and look at what happened”

Lucy “Hey don’t you dare do that your mum gave you orders to keep the kids safe and take them to the bunker and you did that they are alive because of you and now you are training them which make you a good leader”

Hope “A good leader would have helped fight the rouge’s and feral’s and protect the people and the Elders from there deaths”

Lucy “I know that your coven and your brothers and parents would be so proud of you for how you have handled everything despite the attack on the compound”

She then hugs me and I hug her back she then leads me inside and then I head to my room she goes to her room we both get into the shower and then as I am finished and dressed she comes in and we get into bed together and watch a move till we fall asleep.
