Raymond’s POV
I woke up after sleeping without knowing how many hours. I drank some water. The heat in my body is rising. Suddenly I heard Mr. Johnson told me, “Master, are you awake? Someone is ringing the doorbell. Should I check the door?” I was surprised because no one is allowed to come to the villa at this hour, especially for these three days. “Should I go or let it ring?” He confirmed again when he didn’t hear any reply from me. “Okay, go and check, but don’t let anyone in. Tell them to go away from the door.” I told him with a weak and shivering voice. He went away to receive the person in the door.
There was a sudden chill in my body which made me shiver. Then the temperature increased again. I am not familiar with what is happening. I am surprised and don’t know how to tackle it. The fight between the cold and hot is continuing, which is increasing my pain beyond my tolerance. I can see the fire ignites my nerves and veins. It is looking like a volcano is going to erupt, and the lava is making its way out of the ground. But suddenly it changes to blue. I was surprised. Again the lava comes to life, and now it’s showtime.
I was used to my torture, but this time it is different and beyond my imagination. I bend on my knees with my hands hugging myself to compose my pain. I tried hard to remain silent, but I can’t. The fire started coming out of my body and burning me. I cried out as loud as I can, and I can see myself burning.
After my body started burning, I calmed down and sat on the platform. I am going to burn for the whole night and I will be ok by tomorrow morning. I waited patiently for the morning.
Author’s narration
As Johnson didn’t know what to do, he let the temperature of Susan to come down. After almost half an hour, her body temperature came down, but she had a fever. Mr. Johnson held her in his arms and went to the guest room. He put her on the bed and stood there for some time. He could not believe what just happened. She was calm now but shivering and still unconscious. It was the same symptoms his master had when he turned for the first time at the age of 12.
His mind was ringing and screaming that maybe Susan is the cure for his master. He brought a bowl of icy water and a towel to nurse Susan. He tended her for the whole night till her temperature went down. He kept the cold cloth on her forehead and gave her a sympathetic look. He knew what she is going to suffer.
Mr. Johnson went to the room where Raymond is. He called Raymond from the opening, “Master, are you there?” He got no answer. He looked and saw Raymond was burning and sleeping on the platform. He closed the door with a sad look and sat there helplessly. He thought this is going to be a long night. Thinking about both Raymond and Susan, he slept there in the sitting position, resting the back of his head on the wall.

Susan’s POV
“Wait, don’t go. I am coming. I will help you. I know what to do. Don’t run away. I will not hurt you. Wait…” I woke up screaming. That was a hell of a nightmare. I could not keep my head straight as it was too heavy due to a headache. “Oh, Jesus, what is happening?” A shooting electric shock is giving me unbearable pain. I held my head with both my hands and pressed it to stop the pain. I cried out loud.
My eyes were being dizzy, and everything blurred out in front of me. At that moment I saw the door opening. I tried hard to see who is there but in vain. I saw the image of a man but could not figure out who he is. I lost all my strength and even my control and again was about to fall on the bed when the man ran towards me and held me. Everything in front of me went blank, and yet I lost my consciousness.
Raymond’s POV
I woke up in the morning, and as usual, my burning has stopped. I am ok now. But something surprised me. I was not feeling that weak. Usually, when I wake up, I can’t get up, and my body takes almost a day to heal, but to my surprise, nearly 40% of my body is recovered, and I can walk.
I stood up the platform, wore the robe hanged on the wall, and went towards the door, taking the support of the walls. I opened the door. I can smell the fresh and refreshing air. I walked down through the stairs to my room and went to the bathroom. I removed the robe and stood under the shower opening the water and letting it cool my body.
After the whole night of torture, this is the best part. I almost remained there for an hour, cooling myself. After I finish my bath, I came out and put on my casual dress. Even if my suffering reduced this time, I could not go to the office today. I went out of my room to the dining hall and called Mr. Johnson. He was making food for me but was surprised to see me walking in front of him. “Master? Are you ok? I can’t believe you are walking the next day of your suffering.” He almost cried, looking at me.
“This is a surprise for me to Mr. Johnson. I don’t know how this happened, but right now, I am feeling extremely thirsty. Please get me water and food.” I ordered him, but I can be cold to all but not to him. He has always been with me at my worst time. He brought me food and seven bottles of water as my thirst after burning is extreme. I drank all the water and ate my food. When I finished the meal, Mr. Johnson approached me, “I have to tell you, something master.” I looked at him while wiping my mouth with a handkerchief. “Yes, what is it?” I went back to my cold self. Mr. Johnson told me everything that happened the night before. As soon as I heard the narration, I stood up from my seat. “What is her name? Forget it. Where is she now?” I enquired. “In the Guest Room.” Mr. Johnson replied. I rushed towards the room. I want to see who the one exactly like me is. When I reached the alley of the room, I heard a screaming, ‘Wait, don’t go. I am coming, and I will help you. I know what to do. Don’t run away. I will not hurt you. Wait…’ The voice was familiar. I rushed towards the room, and Mr. Johnson followed me. As soon as I opened the door, I saw Susan is about to fall on the bed. I rushed towards her and caught her.
I have a lot of questions in my mind, but I have to let her recover first.
