RAYMOND’S POV
No, no, no, this can’t be happening. I can’t lose you. I saw Susan in her own pool of blood. “Call the ambulance,” I ordered the guards, and one of them pulled his phone and called for the ambulance. The more I see her, the more I feel guilty for not being able to save her, and my rage kept on increasing.
I used my shirt to put pressure on the wound to reduce the flow of blood. Then I lifted her in my arms and started moving out. While passing Bryan, I can see him smirking on me. “You can’t save her. She is dead.” He laughed an evil smile, but I can feel it as fake.
“Take him into custody and give him to eat and drink, but don’t let him sleep,” I ordered my men. “You want to make her sleep. Now you can’t sleep. Wait and watch what I will do for you. If something happens to her, then I will make sure that you will see hell in this life.”
The ambulance was outside, which took us to the nearest hospital. As soon as we went to the hospital, the doctor took Susan to the OT to remove the bullet. I sat there waiting for them to finish.
Ring Ring, my phone started buzzing. I reached it and saw it was Sam. “Hello.” “Master, there is something I want to inform you.” I can feel he is worried from the other side of the line. “What is it?” I was not in a mood to listen, but his concerned voice made me listen to it. “Your parents are planning to see you and Bryan. They called to tell you that they are coming.” “I will talk to them.” Then I hung up.
I don’t want another tension. I need to focus on Susan. If they are planning to come means, they knew Bryan is here. Along with that, I don’t want them to know about Susan being the cure. I looked at the operation theatre, its almost more than two and a half hours, they have taken her.
I dialed a number in my phone. The ring goes on the other side of the line, and then suddenly someone picked up. “Hello, my son. I hope you are pleased to hear my voice.” My heart became cold, and my temperature started rising. It was my mom on the other side. “Why are you coming here?” I cut all the blabbing and hit the point. “To see my son and to know why Michel was talking about you being with someone else? Have you found your cure or just fell for someone inappropriate? You know how Williams’ entertainment is important to us, but you decided to sleep with some low-level mugger.”
Now it’s beyond my tolerance. “Don’t come here, mom. I am fine here, and you don’t need to worry about me. In the case of Michel, I don’t love her. I love the one I found, and I don’t care if she is my cure or not. I am determined to live with her until the end.” I finished my words and cut the line. I don’t want to listen to her anymore.
I was sitting there waiting for the doctor to come out. I heard the door open, and two nurses came out rushing. “What happened?” I asked one of them. “She is sinking, and we are trying to revive her, but we need more blood.” Then she went towards the blood bank.
I sat there thinking the worst, but I can’t handle her loss. While waiting for the procedure to get finished, I got drifted into my dreams. I was waiting in our regular spot where we used to meet. It was some red trees shaped like a tunnel. I waited there for Susan, but I can’t see her.
Waiting for some time, I heard a smooth voice, “when did you come here?” I turned around and saw a weak and injured Susan. “Susan, are you okay? You can hear me, right?” She gave me a faint smile. “I am alright, Raymond; the doctors are doing their best, but…” Her smile faded, and a sad face came to sight. “What happened, Susan? But what? Tell me, please.”
She shook her head and then looked at my eyes. “I will miss you, love, but I can’t be with you. My heart is yours, but some part of me pities Bryan. Please leave him. He is also the victim of the curse. He is just saving his own life.” Tears moved through her eyes, and the same was Raymond’s condition.
“But he tried to kill you.” I tried to advocate. “Yes, but he is misguided by less knowledge. We need to find out some more about the curse.” She told me. I rushed to her and cupped her face. “But I can’t live without you. I don’t care about the curse. I will kill myself before being 35, but at least to that age, I want to be with you.”
She kept a hand on my mouth, “don’t tell that again. I will come to you, and I will cure both of you. No matter how hard it will be. But before that, release Bryan.” Suddenly there was a white light portal started appearing behind Susan. She turned and looked towards the entrance. “I need to go. My time, for now, is finished. Be healthy and keep yourself sane. I will be back, so wait for me.” I held her hand tightly, not allowing her to leave. She came to me and kissed me in my lips and then on my forehead and later on my eyes. “I love you, Raymond.” Before I could say anything, she took out her hand from my grip and started taking back steps until she gets into the portal. “No, Susan, come back to me,” I screamed and came out of the dream.
I saw I was still sitting on the hospital bench. Meanwhile, the door of the OT opened, and the doctor came out. I stood up and asked about the condition. He shook his head, “Sorry, Mr. Smith, we have saved her life, but she went to the coma stage, and we don’t know when she will wake up.” It was like a bomb on my heart, shattering it into pieces. “How can you let that happen? You should do your best to wake her up.” Hearing my cold voice, he got goosebumps inside his shirt.
“We tried our best, sir, but due to blood loss, she went into the stage. We will keep her in observation and will make sure to give her the best treatment; however, we can’t say when she will wake up.” The doctor delivered all the information and moved towards his chamber. I went to see her from the glass door. She was lying there pale and lifeless, but the same aura was radiating from her body, which I had seen on the shooting set.
I stood there looking at her still body, which was only breathing and was thinking about what she told me in my dreams. I will release him, but before that will make sure to make his life hell. I will make sure that he will not touch you again and disappear from our lives.
I kept on thinking all those without knowing what more struggle is to come in the future.
