HE IS GONE

1227 Words
Susan’s POV I woke up in the morning with a heavy head. When I opened my eyes, everything was blurred in front of me. I rubbed my eyes with my right hand and again looked, and for this time, everything is clear. I tried to wake up, but Gary was sleeping, sitting on the chair beside my bed with his head on the bed. His hands are holding my hands. When I tried to remove my hand, “Hey cutie pie, you are awake? How are you feeling? Let me call the doctor.” Gary woke up and started charging at me with a worried look. “I am wonderful, dude, just chill,” I replied. Gary always takes care of me whenever I fell sick. When I had an accident in my high school time, he even cried like a child looking at my condition. The doctor also thought that he is having a panic attack and attended him first so that he will not have a nervous breakdown. He stood up and touched my head to check if I have any fever. “I told you I am ok.” I smiled, looking at him. “Okay, now tell me what happened? I was so worried when I saw you in this condition. Did that jackass Raymond did anything to you? Tell me. I will kill him at this instant.” Gary asked with anger as well as anxious feeling in his face. I laughed with his expression and told him, “Cool down monkey, I am excellent and Raymond didn’t do anything. Instead, he helped me to get here.” After that, I narrated everything that happened in the spring. After all, he is my best friend, and he always worries about me. “Okay, now give me some headache medicine. I am feeling as if my head is going to burst.” I told him, holding my head with both hands. “Oh, sorry, I forgot, the doctor even prescribed some medicines in case of headaches.” He went to the cupboard beside my bed, where all my medicines were kept and gave me some medication. I took it and went to the bathroom. Gary helped me to the bathroom door. After I finished my bath, I came out of the bathroom with only a towel on. Gary was already gone as he might have sensed that I need some privacy. He was always a decent man. I took out my jeans and full sleeves tops from my suitcase as I am feeling a bit cold. I put it on and my jacket on it. When I came to the shooting area, everyone’s eyes were on me. Some were envied, and some were disappointed, but no one said anything. “Are you feeling alright?” director Stanley looked towards me and asked. He was sitting with Cris and were discussing something. Cris also gave a worried look to me with a smile. “Yes, Mr. Stanley. I am perfectly fine now.” I told him while moving towards him. From a distance, I heard my name. It was Gary waving at me and calling. I went to him. “Hey cutie pie, let’s have some breakfast before the shooting starts. I know you are hungry.” Gary told me while making me sit on the chair and keeping my food in front of me. I was overwhelmed by his gestures. That’s why I loved him. “Oh, Gary, you are the best. You are a lifesaver. I love you.” I told him while crashing on the food in front of me. “I love you too.” He replied with a smile. Telling each other, I love you is a common thing for us. Many people, even my parents, once thought that we were a couple, but later I cleared them all that we were just friends. I don’t know why I never saw him in the other way. I never got the feeling. While I had my food, we saw a car stopped in the shooting area. It was Suzy who came from the hospital. Her assistant came out of the car and opened the door for Suzy. Cris and the director rushed towards her. She was all recovered, and the doctor gave the green signal to work. Cris hugged Suzy and kissed her on her cheeks. She also gave a kiss to him. The same gesture with the director. Then they talked there standing for some time. I also tried to go to receive Suzy, but Gary held my wrist and pulled me to sit on the chair. “First, finish the food and then go.” He commanded. I sat down by pouting with my lower lips out, but he gave an angry look with his narrowed eyebrows. I then started finishing my food. After breakfast, I went to Suzy. “Are you OK, Suzy?” I asked her while tapping her shoulder from the back. She turned to look at me and then hugged me, “I am fit and fine. How are you? I heard you were in some accident last night? What happened? Are you ok?” I smiled at her. “Ya, just a small accident. I am fine too.” At that moment, the director asked Suzy to come, and she left. I was alone standing there, but my eyes were searching for only one person, Raymond. I haven’t seen him in the morning. He was worried about me yesterday, but now I cannot see him anywhere. I couldn’t ask anyone because of yesterday’s scene. I cannot even ask Gary because he thinks that whatever happened last night was because of him. I searched everywhere. I even searched all the rooms but couldn’t find him. While I was passing the ladies' common room, I crashed with Michel. She was coming from the restroom. “Hey, Susan. How are you?” “I am fine, just a bit of headache,” I replied. She sighs by keeping a hand on her chest, “OH, Thank God, I was so worried about you. Thanks to my fiancé Raymond, he was your lifesaver.” “Yes, Miss Michel, I am grateful to him. That’s why I am searching for him to say Thanks. But I could not find him.” I told her, hoping to get some information about Raymond. “Oh, honey, you missed him. He went back early in the morning to attend some business matter.” She told me, but she had a tint of sadness in her eyes. I don’t know what it was for. I bid her goodbye and went back to my room. I was just about to sleep when I saw a yellow paper under my pillow. I took it out. My eyes became prominent, and my heart was drowning in guilt. It was written, ‘Sorry, It was my fault. Take your medicines and Get well soon’. The Raymond whom the world knew will never say sorry or write a note like this. But the main thing is that he went back because of me. He is sad and hurt because of me.
