Teira's POV
My alarm started blaring, and I slowly tried to sit up. Once again, I was being held back by three boys. I was pretty much sandwiched in between Ryan and Tyler, and my phone was blaring from the nightstand. Tyler groaned and snuggled closer as Ryan turned around and turned off my alarm.
"Why do you still have an alarm set, princess?" Tyler muttered grumpily as he pulled me flush against his chest. I blushed as I felt something poking me from behind and remembered what the boys did to me before bed. "Sorry," I whispered as Ryan scooted closer to my front, brushing my hair back sleepily, "I'm used to getting up early." I explained.
Ryan gave me a sleepy smirk, and my heart nearly stopped. These guys and their looks could seriously make me melt, "It's OK, angel." he said, pecking me on the lips. "We can sleep for a bit longer before Matt and Tyler get up." he said, gently cradling my head against his chest. Tyler grumbled and pulled me back a bit from Ryan, "You get her for the whole day. Let us cuddle with her before you take her away." he whined before burying his face in my neck.
"I agree with that." Matt yawned from our feet curling around my legs like a cat and nuzzling my lap. I giggled, but Ryan huffed, "It's not my fault you guys lost. You have two hours, then you have to head out. Teira and I have a full day ahead." he said quietly. I wanted to ask what we were doing, but the warmth from their bodies was lulling me to sleep again, and I drifted off.
~*~*~*~
Two hours passed like two minutes, and Tyler and Matt got out of bed groaning and whining. They tried to stay in bed with me and Ryan for a few minutes more but Ryan opened the door, and Val strolled in standing firmly at the side of the bed, looking down at me.
I smiled, "Morning Val. It seems two of our future Alphas are refusing to wake up." I said, squirming a bit to show I couldn't move.
Val smiled at me, "Morning Tei, they're refusing, eh? Let's see about that." She stated as she picked Tyler up by his leg and dragged him out of bed. He protested loudly, "Val! You're supposed to be protecting her, not pulling us out of bed!" He whined as she dropped him gently on the floor.
Matt scrambled up before she could reach for him, raising his hands in surrender, "I know when I'm beat." He said, and I giggled as I headed into the bathroom.
I came out after finishing my business to see Val bowing as Ryan thanked her, "Just doing my job, Alpha." She stated, and I c****d my head at her curiously, "I thought your job was to protect and care for me?" I asked. Val laughed, "That's right, and that means making sure you meet your appointments when certain Alphas want to delay you. Now, if the Alpha will be so kind as to leave the room, I'll help you get ready for your date." She said, eyeing Ryan like she would throw him out if needed.
Ryan chuckled and then smiled at me, "I'll be in the dining hall, angel, don't take too long." He said as he walked out of the room. Val shut the door, "She'll take as long as it will to get ready. Now, if you will, Tei, hop in the shower, and we'll get you ready." She said, shooing me towards the bathroom.
I glanced at her but didn't argue. I hopped in the shower and washed myself curious as to what Ryan had planned for the day. It was obvious he had told Val his plans so she could help me get ready, but I don't think she knew this would be my first date.
I was a bit nervous, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't have any close girl friends to ask about these things either. I knew Ryan wouldn't do anything I wasn't comfortable with, but I didn't know what he expected.
I shook my head to get rid of these thoughts. They were just confusing me. I got out of the shower and began to dry myself off, resolving to just ask Val. As I walked out of the bathroom, Val pounced on me. "Come on, Tei, we need to get you ready." she said as she pulled me towards the bed. I looked at her hesitantly, and she stopped. Sitting on the bed, she had me sit beside her while she used the towel to dry my hair a bit better. "What's wrong?" she asked gently.
I turned to her, "I've never done this before. What am I supposed to do?" I asked. She smiled tenderly at me, "Girl, you aren't supposed to do anything but have fun. Let Ryan show you a good time. That's all, well, that and look good." she replied. I sighed, "But won't he be expecting something? Is there a certain way I should act?-" I asked before Val held up her hand. "Tei honey, breathe. There is no expectation. The Alphas only want to show you a good time. You're their girlfriend. They are supposed to take you out for some fun. Just relax and have a good time." she said as she handed my clothes to me.
They were a bit different than when I went to the mall with Kyle, Val had chosen a dark skirt that fell just above my knees, a dark red long-sleeved shirt, black leggings to go under the skirt and a pair of black flats. My coat hung on a hanger by the door, and I looked at Val curiously after I dressed. She mimed, zipping her lips and sat me down at the vanity, turning the hair dryer on and styling my hair.
When she was done, I had a smoky eye makeup and held a dark red lip gloss to put on after breakfast per Val's strict instructions. My hair was done in crimped waves down to my shoulders, and I had to admit, she was good.
The look on the triplets and Kyle's faces as I entered the dining hall for breakfast made me feel more confident. Ryan beamed at me and patted the empty seat between him and Kyle, Kyle smirked while Matt's and Tyler's jaws were dropped open. I sat and began to put food on my plate, but Matt's hand stopped me, "Treasure, you look absolutely stunning." he murmured, and I blushed as Ryan gripped my hand and kissed it, "Angel, you are the most gorgeous girl in this room. It makes me feel like the luckiest guy in the world to be taking you out for the day." he said. I smiled, and Tyler looked me up and down warmth, showing in his eyes, "Princess, you've got to be a Goddess. It's not fair that you get to go with Ryan and not me." he whined a bit, sticking his bottom lip out in a pout.
I giggled, "Don't worry, Tyler. You be a good boy today, and I'll look even better on our date." I said flirtatiously. He grinned and looked at me seriously as he put a few pieces of toast on my plate, "I'll hold you to that, angel." he said, winking.
Breakfast was full of laughter and teasing between my brother and the triplets as I ate, I was curious why the Alpha and Luna didn't join us but Matt told me the Alpha usually had breakfast in his office these days due to having more work than usual until he found a replacement for David. Our pack didn't have a Beta, as the old Beta passed in an attack before I was born.
The story was that a witches coven had come to our border demanding payment for a 'deal'. The Alpha and Luna were away, visiting Moon Valley so the Beta, Marek, had gone to speak with them. When he told them he knew nothing about a 'deal' and they would have to come back when the Alpha returned, the witches attacked, the warriors and Marek fought bravely and made the witches retreat cursing at Marek saying he would pay. Marek reported the attack to the Alpha but was found dead. A few days later, a silver dagger with runes carved in the blade was found buried in his chest.
Marek had been unmated, and Alpha Christian had launched an investigation, but nothing came of it. Christian refused to name a new Beta, feeling it would dishonor Marek's memory until his killer was caught, so instead, Alpha Christian had an aide to help him run the pack.
I nodded. Everyone in the pack knew the story about Beta Marek. It was why David had been so obsessed with Kyle getting close to the triplets. He had hoped Kyle would be named the future Beta and David would be the new Beta.
Ryan smiled as he stood and held out his hand, "Ready to go, angel?" he asked. I nodded and took his hand, saying goodbye to Kyle and smiling at Matt and Tyler as they sulked, I let Ryan lead me out of the dining hall and towards the front door.
Before we could head out, someone stood in our way. Ryan moved me behind him as we stopped, and I shuddered at the simpering voice, "Where are you headed?" the Luna asked Ryan sweetly.
Ryan looked at her, "Good morning, Mom. I'm taking Teira out for the day." he stated firmly. The Luna looked at me behind him, and I could hear her scoff, "I'm sure Teira can find her way around just fine. Aren't you needed in the office to help your father?" she asked. I glanced at Ryan. He was tense trying not to disrespect his mother and Luna, "Mother, Dad knows and has approved me taking Teira out today. I have already split my tasks between Matt and Tyler. They will be helping Dad. Now if you'll excuse us, we have a car waiting." he said firmly as he led me away.
Just as we got to the door, the Luna's voice rang out harshly, "Ryan, since you are going out with your friend, there's someone I want you to meet in town. Be a dear and stop by the cafe while you're there, will you?" she said, making it sound more like a demand than a request. I did growl this time, I turned and looked at the Luna straight in the eye.
"I believe you misspoke, Luna. I'm their girlfriend." I declared, and we turned and walked out the door, closing it on the Luna's stunned face.
