Taylor I held April against me as she snored softly in a deep sleep dreaming of god knows what. "Taylor what happened when she woke up?" Deacon asked worried. "Deacon, if I knew I wouldn't of just hushed her and put her back sleep!" I hissed annoyed. Why did she seem so shocked when I called her baby? Why was she so skeptical when I held her, why did she go to Deacon when I'm her mate? "-should be in a hospital." Deacon said. "Why doesn't she know I'm her mate?" I say as hurt traces into my voice, saying I wasn't hurt was a down right lie. I'm beyond heartbroken my mate doesn't know I'm hers as she is mine. Who hurt her to the point she can't feel the tingle of sparks my touch leaves behind? "Taylor, her mate is at her old pack, it's the Alpha's beta, Rick. It's not possible you could be her mate." Deacon said staring at the floor with his eyebrows knitted. No this can't be, if he was her mate then that's known as a second chance mate, that's not possible. Second chance mates was only known in the past with the elders. I need to speak to them about this, they know more then anyone could ever know. "What happened to her Deacon? Did they whip her? She doesn't seem to feel the sparks." I whispered stroking her hair softly. No one should be hurt so bad they can't feel their own mates touch, let alone the tingles after they remove themselves. "When April was little her dad set up a rogue attack to kill her mother, he made April their personal little chew toy. They used her as a pack doctor, maid, you name it Alpha. They started beating her when she turned nine, the beta begun raping her at age 12. Rick was supposed to be her mate but in the end all he saw her as was a fuckdoll." Deacon said looking at April with tears in his eyes. I don't understand how someone can just do this to their daughter, their own blood. Derek's pack is twisted, they look for a kill. April was their kill. Now that I took her away from their home their all probably try and attack for revenge or to get a hold of her and kill her themselves. I need to speak to the elders, and quick. "Deacon, can you stay with her for a couple of days?" "Of course, where are you going to be?" Deacon asked looking at me closely. "I'm going to Washington to visit the elders, I need their guidance." I said grabbing a bag. Throwing some clothes into the bag I watched as Deacon held April and my chest begun to ache. What if something happens to her while I'm gone? "Deacon, can you please keep an eye on her? Don't let her leave your side."
