Maddison Cold, pale, and lifeless—that was how Emma looked like as I cradled her in my arms. She was far too different from the first time I met her—alive and beautiful. My cheeks were flooded with tears. I was screaming her name out loud; so loud that my own eardrums would break any minute. The daylight turned to darkness as my tears dried.
