Chapter 20

Its been about a month now since everything happened, I've been hanging out with my friends, and have been avoiding Melony and Finn.

I'm just standing around talking to Casey send them when Melony walks up to me, "Hey Val, so sorry about everything, besties again?", she said in a very high pitched voice.

I gave my friends a look to tell them that I would be back, I grabbed Melony by the wrist and pulled her to the corner, nearest the doors to the building.

"Look Melony, we are not friends, we never were, you think you can have what you want, but you can't have my forgiveness. ", I said sternly.

She gave me a dirty look, leaned forward and whispered in my ear," Fine, but watch your back...." and with that she walked away.

I mumbled a whatever and walked back to my group of friends, we chatted about random things and the bell rang.

We said goodbye and walked back inside the building, I watched as Melony, Finn and their friends quickly disappeared around the back of the school and left.

I walked into my next class, History, and sat down.

After about five minutes of sitting there while Mr whatever his name is organized a bunch of papers on his desk, he finally finished.

"Alright class, there is a big test coming up, and I have decided to assign you each with study partners.", he said.

Half the class groaned and the other half sat there, staring at him.

He started reading out the names of who would be partnered with who.

"Valerie Thomas and Matt Peterson. ", he read out mine and some other guys name.

We both raised our hands, I turned to see him, I had actually never noticed him before, I mean I knew he was a soccer player, and he was quite cute to be honest, but we never really talked much.

He nodded to me, I nodded back.

"Ok class, for the next five weeks, you and your partners will have to find time to study together. ", and with that the bell range for the end of the day.

Matt jogged up to me as I walked out of class," Hey, so um, I guess we are study partners now. ", he said.

" Yeah, um I guess so. ", I said.

After that we arranged to meet at the library after school on Friday, since his soccer practice was cancelled for the week.
