Chapter 3

Sanjana POV

It was around 4 pm when I reached home. Uffff!! I am very tired. I lazily sat down on the sofa and closed my eyes. 

“Sanju if you are tired go and rest in your room,” Mom said while softly keeping her hand on my shoulder.

“Yes mumma,” I smiled and went towards my room.

I did not change and fell on the bed, and drifted off to sleep.

Karthik POV

“Priti come to my cabin,” I called my assistant via the intercom. Priti is an efficient and hardworking employee. She is in my company from the last five years. Earlier she was my father’s assistant and now she assists me. She is in her early thirty’s.

“May I come in sir?” 

“Come in. Priti what is my schedule for rest of the day?” I asked her while working on my laptop.

“Sir, your schedule is clear for rest of the day.”

“Okay. Here take these files, there are few details of our clients. Just enter their information in our database.” I said while looking at her.

“Okay sir. Anything else sir?” she replied with a smile.

“No. Priti I am leaving for the day. If anything important let me know.” I casually said.

“Okay sir,” She said and left.

It was around 5 pm when I left my office.

“Hey buddy, where are you?” Rahul (my best friend) was practically shouted from the other end.

“Buddy I am not deaf. I just left from office” I said while sitting in the car.

“Okayyyyyyyyy. I am cominggggggg to your placeeeeee,” he said as if he was singing a song. God how did I even handle him these many years? 

“But...” he disconnected the call even before I could reply. I chuckled and drove towards my home. Although I am a CEO but I like to drive myself. I reached my home and was about to go towards my room when I heard the doorbell. I open the door and Rahul was standing there smiling widely. 

“Someone looks happy today,” I said while giving him a brotherly hug.

“Yes. Aunty called me today afternoon and said that you are going to see bhabhi (sister in-law) today,” he said and sat down on the sofa as if he owns the place. 

“I have not yet agreed to get married, so she is not you BHABHI,” I grunted and sat down.

“I know you will like her” he winked at me.

“We will see that” I punched him in a friendly way. 

I went to my room and took a quick shower. I wore my dark blue pant along with white t-shirt and light blue jacket. I set my hair properly and wore coffee brown semi formal shoes. I went to the hall and saw Rahul playing games on his phone. This guy will never grow up. I chuckled and then cleared my throat to get his attention.

“Do you plan to sit here and play games the whole evening?” I questioned.

“No dude. Let’s go. Bhabhi will surely get impressed by your looks” he winked at me.

“Will you stop this bhabhi thing?” I yelled.

He raised his hand in surrender. We left my home and towards the parking. We got in the car and drove towards Kohli Mansion. It will be a long night for sure.
