Samuel
Taking my gun from the dashboard, I exit the car as one of my men nods at me and takes it to the parking lot. I notice Seb waiting for me outside the restaurant, his body stiff and alert. The security at place, I enter the diner, Gabe and Seb following me, I discover Lorenzo Romano already waiting for me.
My dark moon has nothing in common with her father. All the beauty she acquires is from her mother. I still remember the scent of her which filled the room, the scent of lavender and candles. The sensation of her around me, when I watched her while she slept peacefully was the best feeling ever. When she stirred in her sleep and mumbled something under her breath was the cutest thing ever.
Last night was the best night ever.
I just had been with her for about 20 minutes. I couldn't stay much longer in her apartment given the circumstances, so I left her a chocolate and a note to alert her about my presence.
In the short time I have known her, which is a day of course, I am so sure that she is much more feisty and aggressive than she gives herself credit for. I know she is going to make it so hard for both of us to deal with each other, but I have come to terms with it and I am going to do whatever it takes for us to work.
The place that would always be packed with people is almost empty, the interiors lit dimly, and paintings hung on each wall.
I gaze at the Italian mob boss in front of me who is soon going to be my father-in-law, his face hard and expression indifferent. The man is somewhere in his late 50s but is as fit and powerful as any of the young men around.
He stands from his seat when he spots me and nods politely. I nod back as I walk to the table. The tension is thick in the air, as we take a seat.
"Why was I summoned all the way to Ibiza?", his voice hard.
Feisty.
"Your daughter is on my grounds," I say flatly as if talking about her doesn't affect me. His knowledge about my obsession with Luna will make me no good rather than put me at a disadvantage. His expression changes, his eyes grow hard, and his body turns stiff.
"Staying on my grounds for years without my notice isn't exceptional. That can mean her death." I say trying to convey it as coldly as possible, he nods and starts to talk.
"There must be another way to deal with this, besides, I didn't even know she was here."
"There is an alternative that I don't believe you would opt for."
"And that is?", his expression curious.
"An alliance."
"Alliance?"
"Your daughter will marry me" I declare.
Images of my dark moon roaming in my wing, sleeping in my bed beside me flashes in my mind. Her smiling at me like I am her everything makes my blood rush south.
I have never seen her smile. That's going to change soon.
Get yourself together, you jerk.
He looks at me like he wants to shoot me between the eyes.
Something passes in his eyes which I can't put a finger on.
"Fine."
"Fine?"
He is fine with marrying off his daughter to me?
He speaks again before I can utter another word.
"You may know that my youngest daughter was killed by the Russians. I know about the rivalry between you and them, so I want us to work together to eliminate them which is the only reason why I am considering this".
He wants to give his daughter to me so that he can get his revenge. He wants to make her a pawn in this game of vengeance. But the thing he doesn't know yet is that, she is going to become the Queen of my territory.
He doesn't give a fu*k about what her daughter wants. He didn't even bother to check on her for 4 years while she lived here for years without anyone to lean on. Without family. Without friends.
That's going to change soon too.
I will give her everything she deserves to have in her life. I am going to make her the happiest person on Earth. She may struggle and try to get away from me in the beginning but she will eventually come to terms with it.
I suppress my nerves to through a punch his way and simply nod.
"I will marry her next week", I say leaving no room for arguments as I stand from my seat and walk out from the exit.
