Chapter 4

“So what do you think Roger?. " asked Mark. “I think we need to ask the children first ?, " replied Mark. “Well it's a definite yes from my son. I hope it's the same from your side. Remember that you have already disappointed me with the delayed project. I'll only give you more time if your daughter agrees, if she doesn't then you know what would happen don't you?, ". “Yes sir," replied Roger. He out of all people, was totally aware of how the Wilson's treated people who disappointed them, and he definitely didn't want to be treated like that.

Damien was at loss of words, but what could he do. He loved his father very much and didn't dare to disobey him. After Roger reluctantly agreed to Marks condition, the Wilson's left. Roger was left in a Dilemma. He really loved his daughter but if he didn't get her married to Damien, who knows what would they do to his family. He might even go bankrupt. That night in bed his wife asked him why was he so quiet and what had happened. He told her about everything that had happened that afternoon. “Hmm... I must say Damien is a very accomplished man at such a young age, plus they have also said that Christine can continue her uni after marriage, didn't they?, " asked his wife.

“Yes they did, but I feel really bad for making my daughter get married due to my delaying in a project, ". “That's true but think about the bright side, they are one of the richest families in the world. Our daughter will have the best life after marriage. A life that others could only dream of, don't you think so?, ". “But money can't buy happiness, ” sighed Roger, “what if he doesn't love her and only treats her like a maid?, ".“All this possibilities makes my head ache so bad ugh, ". “Honey, you are just overthinking yourself, nothing of that sort would happen, " replied his wife. “I hope so, let's talk to Christine in the morning. If she disagrees I won't force her, no matter what the consequences, " Roger said.

The next morning Christine noticed her parents were looking as if they were hiding something bad from her. She stopped eating her Strawberries and asked them what happened. After a lot of hesitation, her father told her everything. “You know, we wouldn't ever force you to do something against your will, so it's okay if you don't want to, " Roger added. “Daddy, which girl in her right mind would say no to marrying Damien. I would have to be dumb to say no, wouldn't I?, " Christine was very happy. After letting her parents know that she was happy with their decision her dad drove her to school.

She told Sarah about what happened and Sarah couldn't contain her excitement. “Oh my God, girlll you are the luckiest person in this whole world, Iam so excited for you!!, " Sarah squealed. “I know right, I can't wait to marry him. You would be my bridesmaid. Hey what do you think about a strawberry themed wedding?, " asked Christine.“Ask your parents about that, " laughed Sarah, “but would you continue coming to school".“Of course, I will, well dad said they would let me continue uni after marriage," Christine replied.
