Nolan's POV
I woke up earlier than usual the next day, my mind full of thoughts of Evelyn; I had not gotten her out of my head. Throwing the covers off, I got out of my huge bed and padded over to the open window. I looked outside and took a deep breath. This was my pack, the light of my father's life. He had been so proud to be alpha. I promised him I would take over and follow in his footsteps. I wondered how things would have turned out if he was still alive. Turning away from the window, I headed to the shower and decided to go for a run afterwards. That could help to clear my head a little.
The heat of the water wrapped around me like a comforting cocoon, washing away the remnants of last night's turmoil. As I stood naked in the shower, my thoughts once again drifted back to E
