37. Innocent Chloe

"Nathaniel is in the library." "I need to drink some water." "Chloe." Gabriel reached for her hand before she could escape to the kitchen. "Don't make excuses." "But my throat is dry. See," she made smacking noises."Very dry. I need tons of water." "Why are you so worried?” Her brows knitted. "I have never done this before, Gabriel. I can't help but feel nervous." During the ride back home, Chloe reasoned everything out. With the way the Agency was acting, she might be under contract with them till she drops dead. So, since she was already down bad for Nathaniel, she decided taking the risk of being with him might be worth the trouble. Her presence in the house was a risk anyway. An extra risk wouldn't hurt. And whatever the near future would bring, it would be known when that time comes. The relief she felt after reasoning all that made her feel amazing. "Just go, Chloe," Gabriel whispered. "Okay, okay. Let me just get that glass of water first." "Seriously?” Chloe escaped his grip and walked into the kitchen. As she caught her reflection on the refrigerator door, she adjusted her hair, smoothly laying it on her back. Then she took off her coat and admired how good she looked in the fitted black lace top, which she paired with blue jeans. Outfit-wise she was good to go. Asking Nathaniel out-wise, maybe not. She could tell that she would fail at it. But now she has mustered some courage to chase her affection, not even her lack of asking-out skills would stop her. After downing a whole bottle of water, her eyes caught the box of milk Amir gave her the other day and she drank some of that too. With a low grunt, she was ready. The box of milk in her hand because she believed it would help Nathaniel sleep better later, she headed for the library. When she got to the entrance, she took a deep breath to calm her nerves. Her pounding heart, however, didn't help matters. She headed in anyway. And there he was, seated before his laptop and some paperwork, looking all serious. His appearance screamed do-not-disturb, so she contemplated turning back, but for some reason, she could picture Gabriel reprimanding her for giving up. So, she moved closer. Nathaniel still hadn't noticed her. She knocked on the surface of the nearest shelf. "Chloe," he answered, his lifted head not displaying a smile but a very serious expression. “Uhm…” With a flicker of slight amusement, his eyes raked her. “Are you going somewhere?” “No. I mean. I did. But now I am back.” She hated that she was nearly babbling. Nathaniel jerked his brows, sat back and his lips tugged into a smile. “You look good.” Then, his eyes focused on her hands. “What do you have there?” His compliment loosened up her tension, so she walked towards him, “I brought you some milk to… Whoa!” She had tripped over something and the fall drove her towards him such that she landed on his lap, her belly pressed against his thighs, the milk cartoon falling on the other side. “Oh. Oh, I…” Her struggle to get off his lap was annulled as his hand held the back of her head. “I think I like this better than milk,” came Nathaniel's husky voice. “Uh…” She looked up at him. Their eyes met so intensely that she couldn't turn away. And with his fingers now stroking the sensitivity of her back, he repeated, “I love this little moment better.” Chloe gave in and remained in that embarrassing position. But her body had to bear the delightful grunt of being so close to Nathaniel. "Chloe?" "Yeah?" He replied by helping her up. But not for long. His hands grabbed her waist and with a swift pull, he had her straddling him, his hands not pulling away even as she shakingly exhaled to make sense of the sudden motion. “This…” She saw how his gaze shifted to the swell on her chest after glancing at her eyes. “I like this best.” "I, uh-" "I get to see your beautiful eyes." A finger went to her left eye and it grazed through the skin below. "I get to kiss your nose." It was as though she was bewitched, she did not move an inch as his lips planted a kiss on the bridge of her nose. Then his eyes moved lower. "And these lips of yours..." As his thumb drew an outline over her lips, her eyes closed. "I can't stop thinking about them. I keep dreaming about them," he breathed onto her lips. Letting out a low gasp as he planted his lips on the side of her mouth, Chloe found herself wanting more. But before giving in to that desire, she needed to address her reason for coming to him. "Nathaniel?" "Yes?" His roaming hands had snuck past her top and found her bare skin. "I-" A little gasp and a clench between her legs confessed her unspoken desire as he planted one more kiss on her shoulder. "I am listening, Chloe,” he mumbled against her skin. And her forehead creased with worry. He was easily making her feel things she had never experienced before, how on earth was she supposed to focus? After gulping hard, she attempted to speak again. “I have to tell you about -” Like a starved animal, he traced his ticklish tongue from her shoulder to the entire length of her neck. Chloe twitched harder when he hungrily growled “f*****g tasty,” against her skin. Trying hard not to roll her eyes back in pleasure, Chloe groaned, "Nathaniel..." "Yeah?" he finally looked at her. "I am trying to talk here." "Do you think any one of us would be able to talk with the way things are going?" he asked mischievously. "Uh..." "Do you know how long I have waited for you to come to me like this?" "You have?" He sniffed the air around her, "You have no idea." The strange feeling in her v****a grew and shifted something in her. She had to adjust in a way that had her grinding into him. Nathaniel bit back a groan. "Don't do that, Chloe." "Do what?" "Look at you, playing innocent. I like that." "But- " "What is it that you wanted to tell me?" "I uh... " Her hips moved again to survive the itch in her p***y. He groaned again and she frowned. "Are you fine?" "Yes. Go on." "I just wanted to tell you that I uh…" Not knowing what to do with her hands, she pressed them to her chest while she felt his hands rest against her back. Their increased intimacy gave her the courage to finally say, “That I… I like… you.” The one smile he never really displayed appeared. It was so enormous and shiny that even Chloe found herself smiling. "You do?" He asked. She nodded. "I want you the way you want me." "Really?" "But..." Her hands finally found a place on his gently heaving chest. "You have to promise me one thing." His touch deepened. "What's that?" "You have to promise me that I will not regret this. See, this will be my first time with a guy. I-" "You have never dated before?" She shook her head and his surprise grew. "I find that hard to believe." She shrugged. "It is the truth." "Wait, does that mean you are a vir-?" Her eyes met his, and they gave him the answer. "Oh my. I-" "You can't go in. He is busy," Gabriel's voice came from outside, and Chloe jumped off Nathaniel. Nathaniel still looked like he was lost for words. Soon, Gabriel came running after a woman who was almost as tall as Nathaniel. Dressed to kill with her camouflage pants and white top completed with a pair of Jordans, she walked further in, and Nathaniel got up immediately. "Kate?" he said. And Chloe couldn't help the frown on her face. "In the flesh." The woman's nude lips spread into a smile and soon, she ran to hug Nathaniel and said, "I have missed you so much, Nate.” She tightened her arm around his waist. “I know you’ve missed me too."
