*Chapter 11 & 12
*Shivaay’s POV*
The drive to Shivaay Residence felt longer than it was. My mind kept drifting back to her — my wife. I didn’t understand it. Maybe this was what it meant to be a husband. Or maybe something was wrong with me.
“Boss… good evening, sir,” Job stammered, his hands trembling.
I only nodded. I had no patience for fear right now. I needed to see my wife.
I went straight to her room. The door had been forced open. I searched every corner. She wasn’t there.
“Charlie!” I barked.
He appeared instantly. “Where is my wife?”
“Sir, she’s—”
“Job.” One word was enough.
Job rushed in, sweating. “Sir, you called?”
Charlie shot him a look and stammered, “B-boss asked where his wife went.”
Job hesitated, torn between loyalty and truth. Finally, he said, “Sir… she was rushed to the hospital.”
My blood went cold. “Which hospital?”
“I… I don’t know, sir.”
I pulled out my phone and called my father. He picked up on the fourth ring.
“Where the hell are you?” I snapped.
“Weston Hospital,” Donald said.
Within minutes, I was there. I stormed to the reception desk.
“Good day, sir,” the ward clerk said, her tone too sweet.
“Spare me,” I cut in. “Give me the ward number. Now.”
She flinched. Before she could answer, a voice called out.
“Well, well. Look who it is.”
Dr. Richard.
“I need to see my wife,” I said flatly.
“She’s awake,” he replied, gesturing down the hall. “She’s stable. Your father’s already with her.”
I didn’t wait. Five minutes later, I pushed open the ward door.
Cristilla lay on the bed, pale and still.
*Cristilla’s POV*
I woke to the sound of a door slamming. Shivaay.
“Could you at least knock?” I said, my voice rough.
He ignored me. “Has she eaten?”
“No,” Donald answered.
“Hey! I’m right here,” I snapped.
Shivaay stepped closer, checking my temperature with the back of his hand. I shifted under his touch.
“Her temperature’s high,” he said to Donald.
“She’ll be fine,” my father-in-law replied.
“I don’t like it here. I want to leave,” I said.
“You’re not fully recovered,” Shivaay answered.
“I’m fine. I’m leaving.”
The doctor entered. “How are you feeling, Mrs. Omkara?”
“Terrible. I want out.”
Shivaay’s gaze flicked to him. “Can she be discharged?”
The doctor hesitated. “She’s stable enough to go, but she hasn’t fully recovered.”
“Then I’m going,” I said.
Donald frowned. “If anything happens—”
“I’ll take responsibility,” the doctor said. Then he paused. “Forgive me, but… what is her relationship to your son?”
Silence.
Donald cleared his throat. “Actually—”
“She’s my wife,” Shivaay said.
My jaw clenched. _He had no right._
The doctor blinked. “I see. Welcome, Mrs. Omkara.”
“Don’t call me that,” I said. “Just release me.”
He returned with discharge papers. “Your husband needs to sign.”
“I can sign—”
“No,” Shivaay cut in. He took the pen, signed, and handed it back. “I’ll wait outside.”
Minutes later, the drip was out and I was dressed. Donald led me to his car. I reached for the handle, but the doors unlocked from a distance.
Shivaay.
I saw him by his car, watching. Before Donald could say anything, Shivaay opened the passenger door, lifted me despite my protests, buckled me in, and drove off.
*Shivaay’s POV*
She chose my father’s car over mine. That stung more than I wanted to admit.
At the residence, the staff vanished the moment they sensed the tension.
“What was that?” Cristilla demanded.
“I should ask you the same,” I said, my voice low.
“You told a stranger we’re married. We agreed not to reveal it.”
“You belong to me,” I said.
Her eyes flared. “I don’t owe _you_. I’m paying off a debt.”
“And how is that my problem?”
“How long until it’s paid?”
“As long as I say, wife.”
She turned on her heel. “Suit yourself.”
*Cristilla’s POV*
I locked my bedroom door and exhaled. I wouldn’t let him see me break. My phone rang. Daniel.
“Thought you were dead,” he said.
“Not yet.”
“School’s been weird without you. New students. Come see.”
“New students or new bitches?”
“Come and find out.” He hung up.
The next morning, I went to school. Red gown, rose print, V-neck back, red jacket, black heels. Hair up with a butterfly clip. I needed to feel like myself again.
Shivaay and Donald were downstairs when I left. I said good morning and reached for my bag.
“Where are you going?” Shivaay asked.
“I have the right to move,” I said. “And I’m going to school. You married a student. Remember that.”
“Then let me drop you.”
“My boyfriend will.”
He stopped. “What did you say?”
“A girl like me has a boyfriend. Shocking, right?”
I left before he could answer.
At school, Katrina spotted me. “Cuz!”
I kept walking. “Where’s Donald?”
“Aren’t you happy to see me?”
“No.”
I headed to the acting hall. A boy sat beside me. “Hey, beautiful. What’s your name?”
I ignored him.
*Jasper’s POV*
She was stunning. And she ignored me. That just made me want her more. I’m Jasper, Italian-German, acting major.
“Jasper and Cristilla,” Professor Greg called. “Partners for _Love at First Sight_.”
Of course he did this on purpose. I always got the maid, the slave, the bodyguard roles after that incident with the princess.
Jasper turned to me. “We have a big role to play.”
“Meet me at the location I’m sending,” I said. “And don’t be late. Or there will be consequences.”
I walked out before he could reply.
Later, Becky blocked my path. “You snatched my boyfriend. My rich, lawyer boyfriend.”
She slapped me. I slapped her back. Twice.
“This isn’t over,” she hissed.
Jasper appeared. “What’s going on?”
Becky faked a fall. I left.
I needed Jasper’s contact. Freshmen files are still in the principal’s office. I slipped in, found his folder on the desk, copied the details, and left before the bell rang.
If he thinks he can order me around, he’s wrong. so I quickly left school going to that devil house
