POV: Tyson
Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck!
I kept swearing in the back of my head as I helped Mia lay down correctly in the bed. Of course, after I cleaned up the mess we both made. She was sound asleep and appeared to be at peace. Yet, in my head was pure chaos. All I could think about was how the second she told me she was half Dragon, everything made sense. Hell, I even felt that Tia set me up in another life.
I instantly regret harming her and abandoning her. The pull I felt to her wasn’t my pass chasing me, but the dragon Mate bond. I had just hurt my Mate emotionally, mentally, and physically. Even in another lifetime, this woman was still my soul mate. She just came back as a dragon just for me. I sat down in the chair beside the bed and watched Mia sleep. I felt a warm liquor roll down my cheek before realizing I was crying.
She set me free from my false imprisonment, and now, because of it, some stupid group wanted to kill her. I refuse to repeat 2000 years ago when Anacalagon framed me for killing Tia when he was the actual murderer. His anger and jealousy over Tia, the future Dragon Goddess choosing me, should have led to his demise, not mine.
Yet, here I sat watching the same woman two centuries later, still choosing me over that asshole.
I swear if fate did us dirty this time around, I would find them and destroy them, damn sisters. I sat here watching the dragon flame tattoo claw up her arm to the mark I felt on her neck as I plotted all the ways I would burn down Middle Earth for this woman.

POV: Mia
I groan at the sun's rays disturbing my slumber. I turned to face away and snuggled into the warm body holding me. I froze for a moment as I realized I was in a bed with another, and their bare arm was touching my bare waist. I was startled and sat up fast, covering my body with the sheets, to look at a now grumpy Tyson.
“Mia, please, just a few more minutes.”
He threw his forearm over his eyes as he moved to lay on his back. I just blinked a few times before recalling that he made sweet love to me last night and even healed the wounds he inflicted on my body. I looked down at my body to see instead of injuries, the tattoo bond on my wrist had taken over my entire arm. I held it in the light and saw a blue tint dance along the black ink forming a flame.
I squealed, though, when I felt someone kissing up my other arm before landing on the nape of my neck. “I asked nicely.” He softly said near my ear as I started to feel a bit dizzy again. However, this time, it wasn’t me feeling groggy but Tyson. “When did you actually go to sleep?” I asked while he pulled me back down and held me close to his body. “A few hours ago. I wanted to watch the bond complete on us.” He groaned before burying his face against my neck.
“Duibuqi wo qin ai de.”
Tyson spoke Mandarin, apologizing, and called me his beloved, but for some reason, it felt like he wasn’t talking directly to me. I just lightly played with his hair as I allowed him to get some more rest. My stomach grumbling gave away that I was still up after a while.
“Meihao de.”
Tyson whined before kissing my neck and moving out of bed to get dressed. He looked back at me to see I was sitting up, covered up by the bed sheets. “Why aren’t you getting up?” I pointed to the torn tube top bra on the floor. “I only have shorts to wear,” I complained as he sighed and went to his closet.
“By the way, where are we?” I asked, even though I knew we were still in Boston at least. “The Mandarin Oriental.” He answered from the closet as I looked out the window. “My car is parked near the club,” I said softly as I tried to figure out how far the hotel was from the club. Tyson got my attention by tossing one of his black t-shirts on the bed.
“For someone imprisoned for two centuries, you sure do have a lot of money.”
I pointed out how he was about to spend so much when he shouldn’t have anything. My descendant family members have money. So, don’t worry about it.” I put his shirt on that was so big that had covered even my ass. It looked like a dress on me, actually. “You have descendants?” I looked confused at him, wondering if he had children before imprisonment. “Yes, but they are my twin sister’s bloodline.” He explained as he came over to me with my shorts and tights.
“My sister knew the truth and made sure her bloodline would too. They stay far away from everyone else since they all feel wronged. I was actually surprised her granddaughter had started a Savings in my name. They had said she claimed it was for her late son.” I couldn’t help but chuckle in disbelief that his family was so loyal even to this day.
“You sure I’m not related to you?”
I tilted my head, curious now since I knew my father was a dragon. “No, my sister's family, stay away from your lineage because they felt your family could have stopped this all, but you are too busy siding with the real murderer.” His words left me with more questions than answers.
“No one told you of your ancestor, Tia, did they?” I shook my head as I tried to remember, but nothing came to mind. I put my shorts on but left the fishnet tights on the bed as I looked for my phone. When I found it on the table charging beside another, I turned to see Tyson toying with the tights.
“What is this contraption? It looked good on your body, but it looks weird now.”
I tried so hard not to laugh as he fit one of the legs on her arm like a sleeve. He bugged out when his fingers went through the holes and tossed it off his body. Tyson's curiosity made him look so cute and entertainingly funny. ‘They’re called fishnet tights. The fishnet because it was a net wrapped around your legs.” He picked them up as if they were dirty and tossed them on the couch. “Please never wear those again. I’ll rip them off if you do.” I walked over to kiss Tyson’s cheek softly. “As long as you don’t cut up any more of my clothes, I am fine with you ripping my tights.”
He looked down at me with a hint of joy, but his expression was still straight edge. I turned my phone on since it had died while I was sleeping to see I had several missed phone calls and text messages. Most of them were from Mom, Dad, and my sister Nuri. A few of them were from Hazel, but she was checking to make sure I was alive and how my mission was coming along. There was a random number that texted me, and it was the first one I looked at.
‘Hey Mia, I see you realized I gave you my black card.
Don’t spend too much though.
It might flag my father.
Stay Safe.
Ji-Yong.’
I smiled as I stored Ji-Yong’s number in my phone. I looked up, though, when I heard Tyson growl. “I know Ji-Yong is a man’s name. He better not be another dragon.” I went to say something but then remembered Ji-Yong was Anacalagon’s son, the chairman council member of Dragons. So, I choose my words carefully so as not to get Ji-Yong in trouble with Tyson.
“He is my only ally related to the Supernatural Supreme Council. I’m not as well off as you. So, he helped me financially get here.” Tyson just stared at me blankly as if he knew I was hiding something from him. His eyes moved to my now tatted arm before back at me. f**k, I forgot I was now mated to this Dragon, meaning he could tell I was hiding stuff.
“Yes, he is a Dragon, but I wasn’t lying. He is my only ally since the Council told my best friend she would be killed if she helped me.”
Tyson sighed, held me in his arms, and kissed my forehead. “Okay, for now, introduce me to your parents, and we will tell you about your ancestor Tia.” I smiled at him as I felt my entire body becoming warm. “You trust me?” He just tilted his head as he searched my eye. “You’re my mate if you hide something because you don’t feel it yet.”
It was my turn to search his eyes to answer the questions he was creating. “The bond, you don’t feel it entirely yet. Once you do, you will know you don’t have to hide anything from me.” He said, answering a few of my questions. “Since you don’t, you protect the ones you care for and love from me.”
I looked away to process his words and realized he was correct. “Will I feel this bond soon, though?” I turned to ask him to see a soft smile greeting me. “You’re not trying to reject that bond. You accepted it, so it’s already working.” Tyson said as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “Soon, you will call for me when you can’t tolerate being away from me.
He gently touched my cheek as I relaxed my face in his palm. “Well then, will you finally tell me your full name? You know mine, after all.” He chuckled so huskily that I felt my core tighten from how sexy it sounded.
“Tyson Meng of the Royal Artic Dragons, from China.”
I blink in shock at him after hearing him say his name, ranking, and country. “Then how do you know English so well?” I said, realizing we should have a language barrier since he had been locked up for two centuries. He lightly tapped my forehead as his answer. “Me?” I pointed to myself as he nodded. “I'm linked to you even before the mark. Your Mage side taught me English, even though you are still dormant.”
Tyson kissed my forehead again as he rubbed my arms. “You’re brilliant, Qin ai de.” I gently touched his arm when he again called me his love in Mandarin. “So, because of the bond, I understand you when you speak what I believe is Mandarin?” Tyson c****d an eyebrow at my question. “Yes, but wait, Mandarin is a language? I thought that was just the title of the hotel.”
I couldn’t help but giggle at how cute this man was when confused. “Yes, it’s a type of dialect, so it's not really considered Chinese.” Tyson crossed his arms as his eyes knitted together in confusion. “I think before I have you meet my family. You need to visit your family and have them educate you on the new Era you live in now.”
He just sighed and nodded his head. I ran my fingers along his tattoo flame mark that had taken over his right arm like mine. He watched my hand and smiled softly. “You know this is that proof you need to show those council people.” We made eye contact before he held my arm in his matching arm. “This is a royal marking for mates among dragons. As of right now, you are my princess I will make my queen one day.”
I looked down at the mark and saw they were in the shape of black flames with a reflecting tint of blue. “If there is a Mage, Angel, or Dragon amongst that group, they should know what this is. So go show them and they will spar you. If they don’t, I will come and destroy them.” He said as he made his eye glow a beautiful electric blue.
“Until I am to help you awake your Dragon and Mage powers, I will protect you with my life.”
Tyson's words comforted me so much that I couldn’t help leaning close and kissing him softly. “Thank you, Tyson.” He smiled wide when I finally said his name without moaning it out like last night. “You are my Mate, so you may call me Ty, princess.”
He held me in his arms until we parted So we could check out. We parted ways after we found my car. Tyson told me he would return for me soon, before going to his family. I just got back in my car and drove toward the camp. I was going to have Ji-Yong confirm the Mate bond mark on my arm before having his help contacting the SSC that my mission was completed.
I just hoped that Ji-Yong wasn’t upset that I mated with the man who abandoned me.
Time to face the music.
