Weird. If there’s one word that I could use to describe how my days went when Dino came, it would definitely be the word ‘weird’. The list goes on and on and it really overwhelmed me. It was like my world turned upside down when I met this weirdo. On the first day, I met him half-naked with his blue towel on. The second day, he was creepily smiling at me when I was on my way to my room. The third day, I was sick and he was the one who brought me a bowl of soup and medicine. On the fourth, he asked for friendship. And as of today, he was consistently living with that statement. I said, be my friend. Comfort me when I’m sad, talk about stuff and hang out with me. “That’s not healthy!” he snapped when I put five packs of Nova in my grocery cart. I eyed him with confusion and raised my eyebrow. He just gave me a questioning expression as if he never had an idea of what he was doing. Ugh, not those not-so-innocent eyes again? I looked away and started walking again, dragging the cart. “Since when did you start to care? No one cares for me, okay?” I said. He eyed me curiously and afterward, he meekly smiled at me, pinching both my cheeks. I felt myself blushed. With haste, I moved my face away. How fool I was to believe that this man will never leave me? He will eventually leave me hanging and I don’t want that to happen. I can still prevent that from happening, by being the ‘mean’ version of me. But this man in front of me was doing wonders. He keeps making me feel things I never wanted to feel. He gives me hope that someday, someone’s going to stay with me. Someone who will never leave me no matter what. What the heck is wrong with him? Why can’t he just stay away? Why can’t he just let me live the way I live my life for the past three years? I know, I’m being too mean. But I just don’t wanna be hurt. And if being remote to people meant sparing my heart from pain, I will instantly do it. I was lost in my own thoughts when the noise of the plastic of my beloved junk foods brought me back to my senses. I saw Dino retrieving the packs of my food and put it back to the rack. He then replaced it with a basket of assorted fruits that I guess he got from the fresh fruit section. “What are you doing—" I wasn’t able to finish my words because he put his fingers on my mouth, hindering me to continue what I was about to say. “Shh, Hush.” I smiled secretly, my name sound so good on his lips. It was like a beautiful melody that I want to replay over and over again in my mind. I looked at him with confusion. “The thing is…I never cared about anything or anyone,” he whispered. I sighed in frustration. So, he was actually playing pranks on me, then? How foolish of me? I was about to leave him there but when his cold and raspy voice trailed off, I stopped midway. “I never cared about anything or anyone…and then you came.”
