He then made the sign of the cross with his right thumb and forefinger to symbolize the Holy Trinity. Touching his forehead with the sign of the cross, he then moved his hand down to the middle of his chest. Next, he touched his left shoulder and moved towards his right shoulder. While making the cross, Father Flanagan uttered, “In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.”
