Chapter 22 It was a cold day in February, 1860. Spring should arrive in a few weeks, and George couldn’t wait for it. He’d been doing some odd jobs for Mr. Hudson down at Hudson Carriages, and he’d bought a baby carriage for Noelle with the money he’d earned. It wasn’t a new carriage, but Bart had helped him refurbish it, and it looked good as new. As soon as the weather turned warm, he planned to take his baby sister for walks through the neighborhood. The animals’ body heat and breath made the stable warm, and George pulled off his coat and hat.
