Almost Four Years
When Truman and Claire married back in 1977, they’d danced the first dance at their wedding reception to Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.” Henry thought the lyrics fit how he felt about Sam, and he liked the idea of honoring Sam’s parents, who’d been so wonderful to him, welcoming him into their family with open arms. So when Sam led Henry out onto the dance floor for their own first dance, the opening notes to that simple ballad are what they heard.
