There was nothing I wouldn’t have done for Fransisca. Absolutely nothing. Yet it didn’t take her three seconds to betray me with my own father just to spite me.
For some reason, her cheating with some random stranger never hurt like this. This is a different kind of burn.
I watch her now, waiting for her to call my bluff. She snorts, though her voice wavers. “You’re bluffing.”
My face is a mask of granite. “You should know by now that I never bluff,” I say, my tone dropping to a dangerous low.
She stares at me, and that smug look of hers fades slowly, like a curtain being drawn shut. Suspicion creeps in, followed by the terrifying realization that I am dead serious.
