After a long night, I hazily woke up from my sleep and looked at a few people around me, they were all lying peacefully beside me, it seems I didn't transform last night. Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief, it seems that without the long life lock, I can restrain the wolfshead grass toxin in my body by myself.
"Up so early." Harry greeted.
"Tell them to wake up too, get ready for military training earlier." The two of us woke up the other three one after the other, and then ran to the water room with our washbasins. Since it's a teaching building, it's impossible to give us space to wash in the building, so we have to run to the water room next to the toilets if we want to wash our faces. Think about how 'pleasant' it would be to wash next to the toilet while smelling the 'fragrance' of the toilet.
After the four of us went out, one of the guys left in the dorm said, "Looks like he's not a werewolf."
The cat from last night appeared once again and said, "If I'm not mistaken, his body should contain the toxin of wolfshead grass."
"It's a miracle that he can eat wolfshead grass and still not transform on the night of the full moon!"
I found a Chinese Taoist sealing technique in his body, which is why he was able to resist the toxicity of the wolfshead grass."
"Taoist, that's interesting. Should we keep an eye on him from now on, then?"
"I don't think it's necessary, that sealing spell is very strong, and unless a real werewolf transmits his blood to him, even if it's a full moon, he'll just be able to increase his stamina and desire to fight a little. And his abilities don't even compare to an ordinary cultivator, so he's not much of a threat to the city. It's better if we don't have to meddle in his affairs."
"Everything is at your disposal."
After another morning of boring training, there was a two-hour lunch break after lunch. The five of us returned to the dormitory together.
"What day of the week is it?" I asked casually.
Matt pressed the button on top of the spreadsheet and said, "It's Wednesday, July 29th."
Twenty-nine it was! I hastily pulled out a set of civilian clothes from under my desk.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked.
I said, "Today is the day when the serialized magazine for the 《Undead Emperor-Vampire Nicholas》 finale is released, so if I go late maybe the magazine will be bought by someone else."
"Is that the book written by the pen name Bloodsucker Hunter?" Matt asked.
"Yeah," I said, "I'm a huge fan of his. The 《Undead Emperor-Vampire Nicholas》 was serialized in a magazine and I bought every issue. Now it's a crucial moment like the big finale, how could I miss it."
"You're not going to skip class, are you?" Timmy asked.
"What do you mean by skipping class," I said, "It's just military training and it's lunch break, they have no right to restrict my personal freedom."
Matt asked, "What should we say if the instructor comes to inspect the room?"
"I'm just going out to buy a book, it won't take long, if the instructor checks the room, you guys just say I just went out, probably to the restroom. I'll give you my cell phone number, if anything happens, remember to call me." Saying that, I wrote my phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to Matt.
To the left of the school's main gate there was a section of almost two meters of fence, I slipped there, when the janitor wasn't looking, and after an assisted run, with my hands on the ground, I easily went over the fence.
The《Undead Emperor-Vampire Nicholas》 was such a hot book that there were less than three copies left when I got to the bookstore, and the salesman was muttering about how if I'd come in half an hour later, the book would have been sold out.
I'm thankful for my good fortune, that damn military training almost made me forget something so important. If there's a next time, I'll say nothing about not coming to military training.
I returned to that section of the fence with the book in my arms and was about to go back over the wall, but I suddenly felt something blocking out the sun, followed by an unidentified object that tackled me to the ground.
It smells good! That was my first impression after I got to the bottom. The scent was like the smell of shampoo that girls are used to using. Because I was pinned to the ground by that object, I could only squint my eyes and see the head of a person with long hair on my chest. It looks like she's really a girl.
The girl, after realizing she had overwhelmed someone, hastily stood up and asked, "Are you okay?"
"It's fine." I'm in a better mood today, and she's a girl, so I'm not going to bother with her. With that said I went to get up from the floor, but a sharp pain that passed through my heart made me give up on the idea.
"Are you really okay?" She asked seeing me look like I was in pain.
I tried a couple more times to stand up on my own, but my ankle protested with pain at what I was doing. Now was not the time to present a hero and say, "I think I twisted my foot."
"Let me take you to the clinic outside." The girl set me up and helped me slowly walk forward. Actually, I originally just wanted her to help me go back and ask Matt and the others to carry me back to the dorm, but now since she's taking me to the clinic, reluctantly follow.
She helped me to a nearby clinic where the doctor examined my ankle, and the girl with some urgency asked, "Doctor, is his foot okay?"
The doctor said, "It's fine, just a general sprain, go back and nurse for a few days and you'll be fine. Why don't you come with me and get a plaster. It will heal faster that way."
"Oh." The girl followed the doctor to another room.
"Your girlfriend is so thoughtful." A student-looking person next to him said.
"She's not my girlfriend." I explained. Girlfriend! Are you kidding me, I've only known her for less than ten minutes. Even if it was love at first sight it couldn't have been that fast. And just now, I was only focusing on my feet, I haven't even seen what she looks like clearly, it's not like I'm a nymphomaniac who loves one on sight.
At that moment she came out of that room with an extra plaster in her hand. I looked at her carefully, her bangs hung thinly from her center to her left ear like a lock of black ribbon, and her alabaster face was flushed with a natural slight blush against her soft, dark black hair. Her nose and mouth were square and small, and with her slender eyes, she was stunningly good looking.
"Leo, we should go." Her words snapped me out of my mesmerized stare and I walked out of the clinic with her assistance.
Though the midday sun was so poisonous that it made the earth raise layers of heat waves, and was enough to suffocate people under the breeze, I still hoped that the road would not end, and that it would stretch on and on, and that we both would keep on walking like this. But at that moment a very important question arose in my mind asking, "How did you know my name is Leo?"
The girl smiled adorably and said, "Who wouldn't recognize Leo who can talk the instructor into silence and beat the instructor while practicing grappling techniques. You're famous among the military trainers now, can I not recognize you?"
"Am I really that famous, by the way what's your name and how did you get out over the wall too?"
"My name is Gloria, I was just trying to get a cup of shaved ice, who knew I'd hit you when I went over the wall.
What are you doing out here?"
"I came to buy ------" At this point I realized my book was missing! "Did you just see a book?" I said as I tried to remember where I had just left my book.
"What book is it? Is it important to you?" Gloria asked.
"It's the grand finale of The 《Undead Emperor-Vampire Nicholas》, there were only three copies left when I went to buy it just now, so I guess they should all be sold out by now. I've been collecting for so long, and now I'm just one book away from collecting the whole set. Alas, today's luck is really bad."
Gloria couldn't help but laugh at my words.
"You think I'm stupid too don't you, that I can be this upset over a book."
"No, no," said Gloria, "I just couldn't imagine that you were a big fan of that book, and seeing as it's because of me that you lost it, I'll pay you back for a complete copy of The《Undead Emperor》."
"Are you kidding me, the serial just came out, even pirated books don't come out until a week later, how are you going to send me the full version now?"
Gloria smiled confidently and said, "Do you really who the author of this book is?"
"Bloodsucking Hunter."
"I said the real name."
"I don't know."
Gloria said smugly, "I'll tell you what, his last name is Gloria too, and he's my father."
The news that Gloria's father turned out to be the author of The UndeadEmperor was so surprising that it took me half a day to say, "No, it can't be!"
"Don't you trust me?"
"I-I believe it," I said, "It's just that this news is so surprising to me. Can I meet your father, I'm a huge fan of him.
"I'm afraid I can't right now," Gloria said, "My parents are out of town right now and won't be back for about a week. I'll take you to see my father when they get back."
Unconsciously we both had returned to the fence, looking at the two-meter-high fence, and then looking at my feet, I knew that it would be very difficult for me to go over it on my own, and said, "Gloria, help me go to our dormitory and call a few people to come over here, or I'm afraid that it would be very difficult for me to go over it."
"No need to be so troublesome, I'll help you flip over." After saying that, the two of us walked over to the wall, and with her hands, I felt my body rising upwards, and I braced myself against the fence at the same time, and went over smoothly.
"You're so strong." I said. I really couldn't tell that Gloria, a seemingly weak girl, was so strong.
Gloria said mischievously, "Don't underestimate me, I also practiced martial arts since I was a child, let's spar when we have time later?"
"Forget it." I said. Looking at the way she was resting on me just now, she seemed to have really practiced martial arts, and if it was during a full moon, I probably wouldn't lose to her, but there was only one full moon in a month, and for the rest of the twenty-nine days, I'd only be getting beat up.
After Gloria helped me into the school building, there was a constant stream of boys casting surprised glances at the two of us. The chances of being able to see a girl in the boys' dormitory these days are definitely no greater than the chances of seeing a vampire in the daytime.
Gloria helped me back to the dormitory, and a few people in the dormitory threw surprised looks at us at the same time. However, Gloria was oblivious to these and handed me the plaster, saying, "Remember to put this plaster on and then take it off after a day."
"Oh." I took the poultice.
This is a boys' dormitory after all, it's inconvenient for her to stay here as a girl, and said, "Then I'll leave first, I'll come see you when I have time later." After saying that, she went out of the dormitory.
After Gloria left, Matt and Jock had a bad smile on their faces and Matt said, "Leo, didn't you say you were going to buy books? Why didn't I see you bring a book back, but a girl instead? Tell me honestly what you did just now, and what happened to your feet?"
Jock said, "Usually Leo looks pretty serious, but I didn't think he'd find a girlfriend after only two days at school."
"Where were you guys thinking." I told them briefly what had just happened.
"Looks like you're really hitting the sweet spot." Matt purposely accented the word 'hitting'.
Jock said, "I'd be willing to have a sprained ankle, not to mention a shattered one, if I got hit by a girl that pretty."
I joked, "Well, do you want me to call Gloria and have her break your legs?"
Jock said, "How are you going to launch your love offensive in the next movie when you've even inquired about other people's names? Do you want our help?"
"I appreciate that."
Matt asked, "What am I going to say at the instructor's when you hurt your ankle? I can't say you were out there getting smashed by a girl."
I thought about it and said, "You guys can just say I accidentally fell down the stairs at lunch and sprained my foot."
When the instructor knew that my foot was injured, although on the surface a look of concern, but generally people with a brain can see the joy in his heart, like me such a love of trouble is not in his jurisdiction, he was too happy, but my injury does not belong to a major problem, plus I myself would like to stay, so in the next few days of training, I have been sitting next to the instructor to help, just like this mix through the military training.
