“Elena, I was worried sick last night—you refused to pick up your call,” Mariana said, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“I was just so happy, Mariana,”
Once I got a message from my uncle asking about my relationship with Alejandro, saying he had decided to transfer Grandma to their private hospital, I rushed out of the house straight to his mansion. I didn’t even have time to explain to Mariana what happened.
“What happened?” she asked, her eyes searching mine curiously.
“Alejandro freed Grandma from Uncle Javier’s trap,” I told her.
Her mouth opened in surprise, and she quickly pulled me into a hug.
“Thank goodness, Elena. We’re finally getting our happy ending.”
