Surprise

After what felt like forever, the door swings open and Alpha Stevens enters my hospital room, followed by one of the pack elders, and that girl with the heavenly scent. I wouldn’t have recognized her if it hadn’t been for her scent… but holy s**t, as amazing as she smelled, she looked even better! She has long, slightly curly, wild hair halfway down her back and it was a shocking purple color. She must have colored it like those she-wolves on tv sometimes do. The color was perfect for her though. And she has these amazing eyes, I don’t even know what color I would call them, since they were so complex, blue-green right outside the pupil, the color turning a deeper green with a dark brown at the edge, and the whole iris was flecked with little gold specs. Her pale skin highlighted by the dark frames of her glasses… how strange… a she-wolf wearing glasses isn’t a common thing… and she is absolutely tiny. I’ve never seen a teenage she-wolf that small. If I had to guess I’d say she was somewhere around 5’ tall with a slight frame… she can’t weigh more than 120 lbs… yet somehow, she still has the most amazing curves…

“AHEM” Alpha Stevens loudly clears his throat… oh s**t, how long was I staring at her? Did he say something I missed? s**t.

“Dominic, this is the she-wolf who helped you in the clearing?” I assumed it was really more of a statement than a question, based on the way he addressed me.

“Yes, Alpha” I said, wondering what he was getting at.

“Luckily for you, she witnessed a great deal of what happened, and her story matches yours.” The Elder said, speaking for the first time. I had almost forgotten he was here. “In light of the circumstances, and the recent, erh, incident with the coma, I feel confident that this was purely a matter of life or death, and you were strictly protecting yourself. We have decided to take that into consideration while determining your fate.”

“Since you are once again orphaned, and at your own hand nonetheless, I have decided that you will move into the 2nd floor of the pack house. And since you are now 16, you will begin training with the warriors on Monday. That will give you 5 days to rest and heal, and with the aid of your wolf I’m confident you’ll be fighting fit in time for training.” Alpha Stevens informed me, “Beta Charles will be in charge of your punishment, which will be completed as part of your training regimen for the next month. A guard will be in momentarily to remove your chains and you’ll be free of the wolfsbane soon as well. Someone will collect you this afternoon and show you to your new rooms.”

And with that, Alpha Stevens left my room, followed by The Elder. That left just me and the mystery girl, alone in my room. Suddenly I became aware that I was wearing nothing but a hospital gown, and that I had been completely naked when she found me. My cheeks flushed bright red under her soft gaze.

“So I guess you’re Dominic then. I’m Ellie, I wanted to properly introduce myself, seeing as I’ve apparently saved your life not once but twice now” she smirks at me and my heart skips a beat. Who is this she-wolf and how does she have such an impact on me?! I’ve been with plenty of attractive she-wolves already, its not like I’m some kind of desperate virgin or something.

“That’s me,” I give her my signature lopsided grin, the face that always makes she-wolves eager to get closer to me. “Maybe I can take you out sometime, you know, to show you how grateful I am?”

Her beautiful face turns pink and she smiles at me seductively, “I think you owe me a lot more than a date,” she bites her lower lip and winks at me, and I feel my member growing harder beneath my hospital gown. s**t! Well, now she’s certainly seen everything… and I’m absolutely certain my face is turning red. “Come find me when they let you out of here handsome, I’d very much like to know more about the ‘hottest wolf in the whole school’ that the she-wolves have not shut up about since I got here.” Just as I’m about to ask where she heard those rumors from, she quickly places a soft kiss on my cheek and leaves.

Her touch drove me crazy! It felt like sparks on my skin where she kissed me, and a warmth spread through my entire body, filling me with the most intense need to be near her, to inhale her sweet scent, to touch her, and have her touch me.

The guard walks in catching me off guard and making me jump. He just gives me a weird look and unchains me without saying a word and before I know it, he’s gone.

A short while later, after the wolfsbane is finally out of my system, I hear Pyro in my head. But what he says is the last thing I ever expected to hear.

“MATE”

“What do you mean, mate?”

“I mean exactly what I said, moron. That scent. That she-wolf! How did you not realize sooner?!”

“Isn’t it your job to know? I thought only wolves could sense their mates.”

“Shut up. You need to find her. You need to go to her now! What if mate leaves because your lazy ass won’t get off this damn bed and go after her?”

“She told me to find her after I’m discharged. She’s not going to just disappear into thin air you crazy ass mutt. Now shut up so I can take a nap.”
