She was in the library, flipping through a book, when Adrian slid into the seat across from her. "Didn’t peg you for the studying type," he murmured, tilting his head as he eyed her open notebook. Janu didn't look up. "Didn't peg you for the interrupting type. Oh wait—you are." He smirked. "Come on, you love the attention." She scoffed. "Says who?" Adrian leaned forward, his voice dropping just slightly. "Says the girl who never walks away." Janu's fingers twitched around her pen. Damn him. He was too good at this—too good at reading her, at making her feel things she wasn’t ready for. "You're annoyingly confident," she muttered, going back to her notes. "You're annoyingly cute when you’re trying to be mad at me," he shot back without missing a beat. She definitely didn’t blush. "Why are you even here?" she asked, desperate to change the subject. Adrian shrugged. "I like learning your weaknesses." Janu narrowed her eyes. "I don’t have weaknesses." His smirk deepened, and before she could react, he reached over and lightly flicked her forehead. Janu gasped, hand flying up to the spot. "What the hell?" "See? Weakness," he said, looking far too satisfied. "You—" she was this close to smacking him, but then he did something even worse. He reached out and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Janu froze. His fingers barely brushed her skin, but it was enough to send a shiver down her spine. "Yeah," he murmured, watching her reaction. "Definitely a weakness." For the first time, Janu had no comeback. And judging by the way Adrian grinned as he leaned back, he knew he had won.
