The liquid was a clear sapphire blue, but it tasted like swallowing chunks of ice—cold and as if tearing through my throat. I coughed softly, feeling my throat go numb. “Drink it. Don’t waste a single drop.” Dorian’s voice sounded cold, like he was lubricating a machine that was about to break down. I closed my eyes, forcing the liquid down my throat. Instantly, the cold exploded in my stomach, spreading through my blood vessels to the tips of my fingers. My breath caught as my vision began to sparkle and darken.
