“Who is that?”
Hana looked up from her fries.
“Who?”
Mira tilted her head toward the cafeteria entrance dramatically.
“That.”
Several students near the entrance suddenly started whispering while a tall girl walked inside carrying architecture tubes against one shoulder.
Pretty.
Very pretty.
Soft beige tudung.
Elegant outfit.
Confident walk.
The kind of girl who looked expensive naturally.
Alya immediately leaned closer.
“That’s Sara Amani from Architecture.”
Hana blinked.
“Oh.”
“Oh?” Mira repeated in disbelief. “THAT’S your reaction?”
“What reaction am I supposed to have?”
“She’s literally one of the prettiest girls on campus.”
Hana continued eating calmly.
“Okay.”
“You have no survival instincts.”
Before Hana could reply—
the empty seat across from them was suddenly pulled out.
Danish sat down tiredly with files in one hand and coffee in another.
“You look terrible,” Hana said immediately.
“I know.”
“You finally becoming human?”
“No.”
Mira and Alya exchanged silent looks instantly.
Then suddenly—
“Danish.”
A soft female voice interrupted.
Everyone at the table looked up.
Sara.
The architecture girl smiled warmly.
“Can I borrow your survey notes from last semester? My senior said you still have them.”
Danish nodded once.
“I’ll send the files later.”
“Thank you.”
Then unexpectedly—
Sara glanced toward Hana and smiled politely too.
“You’re Hana, right?”
Hana blinked.
“…Yes?”
“I’ve heard about you.”
That sounded mildly threatening.
Before Hana could overthink it further, Sara smiled again and walked away toward another table.
Immediately—
Mira grabbed Hana’s arm aggressively.
“She’s pretty.”
Hana almost spilled her drink.
“Why are you attacking me with information?”
“She’s exactly Danish’s type.”
Danish looked up slowly.
“I have a type?”
Alya answered immediately.
“Elegant girls.”
Mira nodded seriously.
“Smart. Calm. Mature.”
Then both of them slowly turned toward Hana.
Who was currently sitting cross-legged while aggressively stealing fries from Mira’s plate.
Hana narrowed her eyes.
“You people are rude.”
To her surprise—
Danish suddenly spoke.
“Sara and I are just acquaintances.”
The table became quiet for one second.
Interesting.
Very interesting.
Because nobody actually asked.
Mira looked like she was about to explode from curiosity.
Meanwhile Hana frowned slightly.
Why did he sound defensive?
Later that night, Hana sat beside Danish in the discussion room preparing lab calculations again.
Unfortunately—
her brain had already stopped functioning two hours earlier.
“Why does engineering have so many numbers?” she complained dramatically.
“Because it’s engineering.”
“That explanation deserves jail time.”
Danish ignored her while typing.
After several minutes, Hana suddenly spoke again.
“You know…”
“Hm?”
“You actually match well with Sara.”
Silence.
Complete silence.
Danish slowly stopped typing.
Hana continued innocently.
“She’s pretty. Smart too. Very elegant.”
No response.
Hana looked up.
Danish was staring at her now.
Not angry.
Not annoyed.
Just staring.
“What?”
“You think too much.”
“I’m serious.”
“You shouldn’t involve yourself in other people’s business.”
“That sounds unnecessarily hostile.”
Danish closed his laptop suddenly.
“We’re done for today.”
Hana blinked in confusion.
“What? Why?”
“You’re distracted.”
“I literally just spoke one sentence.”
“Exactly.”
Then before Hana could continue arguing—
he stood up and walked out of the discussion room.
Leaving Hana sitting there alone with unfinished calculations and emotional confusion.
A few seconds later—
her phone vibrated.
Mira:
Did you tell Danish he matches Sara???
Hana:
…maybe.
Mira:
YA ALLAH HANA WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT
Hana frowned at the screen.
What exactly did she do wrong?
