Layla’s brother walks in the room unannounced. His entrance is followed by an awkward silence from my family members. Even I am too weak to tell him off.
I try to get on my feet but my legs still feel weak, I sit back down on the bed and turn my face to the window.
“Um…if I could get everyone’s attention please. There’s something I’d like to say.”
Layla stares at her brother intensely.
“Go on. Tell us”
