By the time I got back to my desk, the story had already started to change shape.
I could feel it happening. The hush from the morning was still there when I stepped off the elevator, but underneath it something else had begun to move. Phones were ringing across the marketing floor. Two of the creative leads were huddled over a screen, and when I passed they looked up at me, not with the careful blankness of an hour ago, but with something closer to interest.
