Only If You Beg...

MIXED POINTS OF VIEW SILAS’S POINT OF VIEW Willamette University in Oregon. My new college. It’s really beautiful here. The buildings and surroundings are lovely, but what draws me in is the Mill Stream that flows through the middle of the campus, giving the place a peaceful feel. I don’t know what it is—maybe the small mill, the green grass, or the beautiful trees—but this place feels like home. It’s the end of the first class, and so far, I haven’t had any problems, not that I ever did. I’m pretty tall at 6 ft 5 and quite big and muscular. And pretty crazy. And just pretty overall. The girls are all over me, while the boys try to stay away. After the first class, I realize I forgot to take my meds and try to find my way back to the bathroom, but it isn’t easy. I wasn’t paying much attention on my way to class because I was too focused on a girl’s ass. I’m an ass kind of guy. And this girl... damn. I finally find the boys’ bathroom, take my bottle out, and pop the pill in my mouth, swallowing it with a sip of water. By the time lunch comes, I’m exhausted. My meds are calming me down but also making me sleepy. But I need them. If not... well, the outcome is not that pretty. I walk into the cafeteria, buy some food for myself, and then sit at an empty table, hoping no one will bother me. “Hi. I’m Kara!” As much as I want to f**k, now is not the time. I refuse to answer or look at her, but she still decides to sit across from me. “Don’t be rude. Introduce yourself.” The small voice demands, and I look up to see a girl with natural red hair tied in a bun, a small button nose covered in freckles, big hazel eyes, and a huge smile that lights up her small face, making her look like a tiny fairy. “I’m Silas.” I try not to smile, but her smile is contagious. She tilts her head and looks at my face, but before I can ask if I have something on it, she starts talking. “You’re not so scary when you smile,” she says matter-of-factly, making me smile even wider. “But I’m scary when I don’t smile.” She nods vigorously, and I laugh. “Then why did you come over here?” I ask, genuinely curious, and she shrugs her little shoulders. “Well, to be honest, I’m being bullied. So, I saw you all big and scary, and I thought I could try to be your friend. If my plan succeeds, nobody will bully me, and if not, well, what do I have to lose?” She talks in such an honest way that it melts my heart. “So, you plan to use me.” She nods and bats her eyelashes at me, giving me her best puppy-dog eyes. “Maybe? Does it work?” Now I’m laughing out loud, and she joins me. Her laughter is as vibrant as she is, making it hard for me to stop. Mine is loud, rich, and deep, while hers is more colorful than a rainbow. We turn a few heads, but neither of us cares. “Maybe. What’s in it for me, though?” “A real friend. I don’t have other friends, so your secrets are safe with me. I can be your human diary.” The contagious smile grows bigger, and even if I wanted to, I can’t say no. But who can say no to a fairy with big puppy eyes? “Alright, then. We have a deal, little fairy.” “Little fairy?” she asks, confused, and I nod. “You’re little and you look like a fairy,” I explain, and she looks at me with a serious expression for a few seconds, tapping her small index finger on her chin as if she’s deciding whether she likes the nickname or not. Then her smile returns, ten times wider. “I like it. And you are…” She continues to tap her index finger on her chin as she thinks of a nickname for me, but I interrupt her. “No. I’m Silas.” “You’re not being fair!” She looks at me through narrowed eyes, scolding me. “I know. Now eat your food so you can grow into a big fairy, and let me eat mine,” I say, and she nods with a big smile before she starts eating again. When I’m almost finished, I hear some guys and girls calling someone’s name, and instinctively, I look toward the exit. A guy my size walks into the cafeteria, looking pretty angry. I turn around and mind my own business, but soon after, I hear an angry voice next to me. “WHO THE f**k ARE YOU?” I look up and see the guy who first entered the cafeteria. His blue eyes are brighter than a summer sky, and his jet-black hair complements them. It’s cut short on the sides and about 3 inches long on top, styled back. He has full pink lips, a chiseled jaw, and a slightly tanned complexion—and why the actual f**k am I examining him? “I asked you a question!” he hisses angrily through gritted teeth, and I calmly stand up, and he looks at me a little surprised when he sees that we’re the same size. “And I should answer, because?” I ask as if I’m genuinely curious, but it’s obvious I’m being sarcastic. Then, to make matters funnier and anger him more, I take a deep breath through my nose and exhale it through my mouth as if I’m bored. I have to admit that his scent is a killer, and I’d ask him what cologne he’s wearing, but he’s an ass, and if his facial expression tells me anything, I don’t think he would tell me anyway. “Because I asked you!” “And you are?” I ask with a smirk, enjoying watching him get angrier, and he groans in frustration, which makes me smirk even more, fueling his anger and making me happier. “ANSWER!” he demands, and I look around and realize that no one is even breathing, and all eyes are on us. It’s pretty funny. Anyway, I decide to disregard him and look at Fairy, who looks at us scared, and I can’t help but smile. Little thing. “Come on, Fairy, let’s go.” She smiles and nods, and I grab my backpack, then look at the guy expectantly, silently asking him to make room for me to pass, but he’s not moving. “Look, if you want to test me, I suggest we go outside. Or, if you’re willing to pay for the damages we’ll do in here, I’m in. Just say the word,” I say in a calm voice, looking at him expectantly with my eyebrows raised, waiting for an answer, and he takes a step closer, but I’m not moving. It would take much more than that to intimidate me. Even though I do hope that I won’t get in trouble, because that could lead to us moving again. But if I really have to… “Tell me who you are.” His voice is deep and husky, and for some unknown reason, my skin prickles with goosebumps. I don’t know why because I’m not afraid of him. Not in the slightest. I push aside the questions my mind has suddenly formed at this inopportune moment, smirk arrogantly, then lean in closer and whisper in his ear so only he can hear. “Only if you beg.” Again, I don’t know why, but my voice comes out sensual. I didn’t mean to. But then again, I don’t mean a lot of things. “I don’t beg,” he whispers back, and his lips touch my ear. Thousands of jolts of electricity course through my body, freezing me for a second and leaving me speechless. I look at his hands to check if he has a taser, but they’re empty. I realize my senses are playing tricks on me again, so I shove him aside, ignoring the electricity that shoots through my body as I do it, and head straight to the bathroom to take another pill. I think I need a bigger dosage. XENOS’S POINT OF VIEW Even before I entered the cafeteria, I sensed that scent again. At first, I thought I was imagining things, but I saw a golden light, like a rope leading to that table. Straight to the source of the scent. A guy. Apollo was saying something, but I couldn’t focus. What the hell is up with the golden rope, and why the hell is his scent making me aroused? I can’t get aroused because of a man. I don’t get aroused because of men. My anger goes through the roof. His calm demeanor only makes it worse, especially when I catch myself noticing his light green eyes, light brown hair with natural blonde highlights, plump pink lips, and far too many other details. What the hell is wrong with me? No, nothing’s wrong with me. He’s the problem. Something is wrong with him. And the touch. He felt it too, I know he did. But what both intrigues and scares me at the same time is that I instantly calmed down. It was like I was high. I’ve never used drugs, but I know the side effects. “Apollo, what was that?” I ask in a desperate voice as I storm out of the cafeteria and onto the football field to calm down and get rid of that intoxicating scent. “I think you know what it was,” he states in a calm and steady voice, shocking the f**k out of me. It’s not the time to be calm! It’s time to f*****g panic!!! “Apollo, it’s not the time for riddles. Just tell me.” I think he feels the panic that rushes through my veins like an angry river, making my heart pump faster and harder than ever because, for the first time, his voice is soothing. “That was your mate, Xenos.” I freeze in place. My blood turns to ice, refusing to flow through my veins any longer. My mind stalls, and my thoughts freeze along with everything else inside me. Even my oxygen seems to freeze. Everything comes to a halt. Every organ feels like it’s failing me. “Xenos? You need to breathe.” I try to follow his advice and breathe, but it’s kinda hard. “Wait. No one said... anything about... a damn golden... rope. Maybe he’s... some enemy. That’s not... normal.” I try to find another explanation between desperate attempts to catch my breath, and I slowly sit on the ground because my legs are just like every other organ in my body. USELESS! I need another explanation because this one is absurd. I am not gay. “Normally, it’s not. But don’t forget that you’re not normal. You’re like…Jesus.” Holy damn f*****g holy s**t f**k motherfucker! “Cursing won’t help! Breathing on the other hand…” Damn sarcastic wolf god. I take a few moments to catch my breath and calm down because I’m too young to die, and I’ll be damned if I’ll die because of a guy. “It makes no sense. It must be a mistake, Apollo. I’ve never been attracted to men. NEVER!” And then it hits me. “IT’S YOUR FAULT! YOU’RE GAY!” I yell, not caring if anyone hears me, and the bastard starts laughing. Who the f**k does that? I’m dying here, and the guy is cracking up! “I’m not gay, Xenos. You’re not gay. Why are you humans so stupid? Why do you have to label every damn thing? Does soulmate have a gender? NO! Why? Because you fall in love with someone’s soul! Character! He is your mate because of his soul, not because of his genital organs or looks! Damn, i***t!” He goes from amused to frustrated and angry, and the growl at the end confirms it, but I’m worse, so I don’t give a s**t about him right now. “I can’t do this right now! I just can’t! I’m not gay!” “Dear sweet Me! I’m talking to the walls. We’ll talk after your pathetic panic attack is over. I don’t have time for this s**t!” And with that, he shuts up. And I’m all alone. I’m gonna panic. I’m panicking! Why? How? He’s my mate? This morning, someone sucked me. And that someone was a GIRL! And I enjoyed it. It makes no sense. I need to find him. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe it was the red-haired girl. But... the damn golden line... the touch... and the scent came from him. But who knows, perhaps I’m lucky.
