CHAPTER FOURViola awoke the next morning feeling as if she had not rested in the least. She had hardly slept at all and felt very impatient for five o’clock to come so that she could see the Earl again.
“A whole nine hours before he calls,” she sighed to her reflection, as Mirupa combed out her hair.
“Do not wish the day away, there is so much to see and enjoy in Mandavi that there are not enough hours in the day. Have you been to the ruined temple in the jungle yet?”
“No,” exclaimed Viola, with her eyes widening, “it sounds most interesting. Where is it?”
“It is to the North of Mandavi – I am certain that Dinesh would be able to tell you the way because I know that he has visited it many times.”
