The sky tore open.

We fell.

Stars. Metal. Alarms.

"Gravity failure!" someone screamed.

I grabbed for anything.

We were floating. In space.

The Fragment had thrown us into World 2.

She: Engineer. Lowest rank.

He: Commander. Married to someone else.

Mission: Sabotage the station. Get the Fragment. 30 days.

Bonus: Don’t fall in love."]`

"Married?" I choked.

Damian looked down at his hand.

There was a ring on it. Not mine.

His eyes went cold. "This world is lying."

The station shook. Red lights.

"Commander Vale!" a woman floated past. "The reactor is melting down!

We need you on the bridge!"

She looked at me. Sneered. "And who’s this? Trash from the lower decks?"

Damian didn’t answer. He just pulled me to him.

His lips were at my ear.

*Can you hear me?* he thought. *The bond is weak here. But it’s there.*

*Yes,* I thought back. *We have 30 days.*

*Then we burn this station down to find the Fragment,* he said. *Together.*

The woman grabbed his arm. "Commander, we don’t have time—"

Damian turned. Ice in his eyes.

"Touch her again and I’ll throw you out the airlock."

He looked at me.

And in zero gravity, he kissed me.

Slow. Defiant.

With the whole crew watching.

When he pulled back: "She’s with me now."

`[Game Master: "Rule broken. Penalty: Reactor meltdown in 12 hours."]`

Damian smiled. Dark.

"Good. Gives us a deadline."
