Unexpected meeting

Vivian POV The trainer was leading me though a maze of corridors, and I was sure that I would get lost if someone left me here alone. We walked crossed corridor after corridor, when finally we stopped by a heavy-looking metal door that fit quite well in the all-metal room. To my surprise, it did not have anything special about it... it looked like all the rest of the doors in this place. Clean dark metal. I expected something fancy, like wood or fabric, but I guess the director was a simple man. "I will wait here for you and take you back when you are done." He said in a calm tone as he stepped to the side, letting me enter the room. For a moment as I was reaching to open the door, by pushing the button, I tried to calm myself down. There were a few reasons why I was summoned here. I was getting kicked out before I even started, because of something I do not yet know. The Cliffwinds have summoned me, but I do not think that they had that much power or cared to do this. There is also a slight chance that someone would have figured out that I was Hades and I would be taken to court straight away. I know that the last one was not really possible, because no one knew my connection to Hades, but it was always a possibility. Forcing myself to take a calming breath, I prepared myself to meet my fate. If I'm honest, I had never considered the possibility of being kicked out of the academy... so I had no plan for that. Sure, I was financially secure, due to my side hustle of designing spacecrafts and war ships, but me living out of it would cause too many questions that I did not want to answer. Lost in thought and plan making, I stepped into the room and was hit with a very familiar scent... that was not as sweet as before. Lucien... My eyes shot up, and I saw a much harsher version of the sweet silver-haired fox hybrid I spent three days with. His ears and tail were hidden and instead of the school uniform and everyday clothes I saw him in before, he was wearing his military uniform. Instantly, I dropped to my knees. "Prince Ninth." "Get up, Vivian. There is no need for formalities when no one else is around." With a short nod, I rose to my feet and looked up at him, He looked exactly the same, but very different at the same time. There was no adorable smile and dimples on his cheeks that I was so used to seeing. His eyes were no longer black, but light gray, they almost matched the color of his hair. But what changed the most, I guess, is the way he was holding himself and his body language. He no longer looked approachable or even human. His back was straight and his movements sharp. You can see authority and power radiating from him in a much more terrifying way. Now I understood why everyone said that he was a scary and ruthless man. That would not think twice about killing you or sending you to the deepest and darkest prisons in the galaxy. I was a bit scared of him, but at the same time... there was a part of me that liked this side of him as well. Sure, he was the complete opposite to the sweet, adorable Lucien I held through the night... but this Lucien... no this was not Lucien, this was the Prince Ninth of the Alpha empire. He was attractive in his own way. A way that made you shiver in fear, but feeling turned on by it. My eyes roamed his body shamelessly as I appreciated how good he looked in that uniform when I met his eyes again. This forced me to remember why I was here... or how I did not know why I was here. "You summoned me, sir. What can I do for you?" As the word Sir left my mouth, I saw something flash in his eyes, but I forced myself to ignore it and not look into it too much... there was no way that he was interested in that or me in that way. "Yes, why don't you sit down, Vivian?" He pointed to a chair in front of him. "Yes, your majesty." I answered him and walked to the chair he pointed at. As I got closer, I saw his nose move a little as he breathed. It was clear that he was breathing in my scent, there was no mistaking how his body was reacting to it. Another wave of different emotions shined in his eyes the moment he breathed in and stopped breathing for a moment, but I chose to ignore it. There is no point pondering on what he was thinking or what this might mean. "You filed for annulment of our mating match." Okay... I did not expect him to come all this way to talk about that. "Yes, I did." "Why?" I could not help myself, but laugh at the weird conversation we are having right now. "You don't think we should annul this match, your highness?" "I am asking what you think, Vivian." With a deep, tired breath, I answered his cryptic questions. "I explained it to you in the email I sent you after your heat ended, your majesty." I lifted my face and met his eyes, there were dark shadows in them and a lot of emotions that I could not put a name on to. "Yes, I saw that, but I want you to tell me face to face." His voice was calm and cold, the complete opposite of how I felt. I was so confused. Why was he here? We both know that this match was a mistake... Neither of us have any business to be together, so why was he here? Why didn't he just agree to annul the mating match? "As I said before, I am not a good match for you. I am an orphan with no family ties or royal blood. I am a werewolf hybrid, the most disliked type of hybrid there is. There is no way that I am fit to be mate to the future ruler of the empire." His face became a mask of indifference. "But we have a hundred percent genetic matches. That is almost unheard of, very few get this high of a match." "It just means that our animals and scents match. It doesn't mean that I suit what you need in a mate or the postilion you are in." "We have already spent my heat together, that means we are a great match physically. It is clear that my fox wants you." "It's just animalistic lust, your highness, and I just happened to be there." His face changed a moment later as an idea crossed his mind and his eyes narrowed. "Maybe you already have someone else waiting for you on the sidelines." "My reluctance to marry you has nothing to do with anyone else and, just for the record, I do not have anyone." A small smile appeared on his face when I said that I did not have anyone else. "Then I don't see any good reason as to why we should annul the match. We will stay engaged for the time being." "What? Why? I don't understand why you keep fighting for this match when it's clear that it was a mistake. We both know that I am not fit to be the next emperor's wife." His face darkened this time, and I knew that I had angered him by fighting him. Great... just great... "You do not need to understand." "What do you mean I do not need to understand? I am the one that you are f*****g matched with. I need to know why the hell you are fighting to keep us together." I only realized that I was not talking, but almost shouting at him. At some point, I also jumped to my feet and was leaning at him in a threatening way... f**k my wolfs temper... Shit... shit... why was I so stupid? He released a growl, forcing me to sit down.
