I immediately apologized to my mother as one of the maids rushed in to clean up the mess I made.
Embarrassed by my own lack of self-control, I made my excuses to mother. I could not concentrate on what my mother said because my mind was occupied with her and where she was. The need to see the little wolf, to make sure that no one touched her overcame me.
