Fated to be together or not [COMPLETED]

My Wife

It was midnight when I woke up. I think I heard something. I startled and saw a shadow near the balcony. I was scared to death. What if this is Alex, trying to rape me again. I covered myself in the duvet and acted like I was sleeping.

There was a thump and I took my head out of the blanket, only to see him lying on the couch. So he is sleeping on the couch. Thank God.

I stepped towards him, and what I saw shook me. He was drunk. When he saw me, a smile crept on his lips and for a moment I thought how innocent this smile is. And then I saw a tear in his left eye. He quickly turned his face.

"Good Night Nicolle. You should be sleeping."

"Good Night." I walked towards my bed thinking why was there a tear in his eyes. Was he really feeling so guilty. I lied down on the bed and tried to sleep.

Alex:

I woke up with a heavy headache. Why did I drink I so much last night, but then I remembered it. Yeah, I needed that to forgot what happened last night. I looked towards the bed and saw Nicolle sleeping. I stood up, and started to get ready for the office. After all, the show must go on.

I wonder if I did something in front of her yesterday night. I was so hurt, and pained. But that's how I am always. Thinking about all this, I got ready and went to office. I wanted to call Shelly and apologize, but I know if I do that, things will be bad for her and myself. I have to keep my feelings under wrap.

I left for home a little early today as we need to attend the party which was hosted to announce wedding. I entered my room and a smile appeared on my lips.

Nicolle was standing in front of me, getting ready. She was wearing a blood red gown with V Line, which was highlighting her curves perfectly. Neck line was not too deep. And she was wearing red lipstick. A white pearl necklace and matching earrings. A diamond studded belt was hugging her waist and it was almost impossible for me to take off my eyes off her.

"You are looking beautiful Nicolle." I told her moving forward, but I saw a change of expression in her eyes. As if she got scared. Damn it! You scared her Alex. She went through such trauma. I moved backwards and turned away.

"I will wait in car. Let me know when you are ready. We will leave with Shelly." I told her, so she can relax that she will not be alone. I don't want her to feel any fear.

Nicolle:

I saw Alex entering the room and immediately regretted my decision to get ready. He was looking at me and I was afraid. What if he rapes me again tonight. If that happens, I will kill him. I scanned the room, and there was a vase, mirror, and a center table made of glass. I was looking at my options. I think he followed my eyes and understood, so he turned around and asked me to come in car when ready.

The moment car stopped in front of the venue, cameras flash which made me blind for few seconds. I felt a hand grabbing my fingers softly and guiding me to move forward.

"Just open your eyes and smile. Doesn't matter if you can see anything or not. I will guide you. It will last only for a few seconds." I felt Alex voice near my ears, and I immediately backed away.

Then he tugged my fingers and I followed him, just smiling randomly. The decoration was mostly white and I think this was the dress code. Women in red dress and men in white suit. I saw some girls coming towards me and shooting daggers. I was unable to understand when Shelly whispered.

"They are some of the girls who wanted to marry BBro, but he never even dated them. He declined straight away. Specially that girl with brown hairs. She used all the tactics. She is the daughter of Mr.Jose, one of the investor. She tried to force BBro, threatening that if he declines, she will force her Dad to pull out the investments. Do you know what my brother did?"

"What?" I wanted to know how he reacts when he is threatened. This will help me in understanding him.

"He cleared his account, and kicked the investor. He is like this only. He can not tolerate anyone's dominance over him. If he is angry, its better to keep distance. because then he doesn't think about anything."

Shelly's face was a little dim now, and I understood she was talking about yesterday. I didn't hear what he said, but from what Roni told me, he scolded her for 3-4 minutes straight, not even caring that she was already crying. He is so heartless.

"Hello Nicolle." I turned to see a man, in his early fifties coming near me. I shook my hands with him, but he took my palm and kissed the back of my hand. And I felt a wet kiss. All that trauma came in my mind, and I started to shake. He didn't seem to care but Shelly noticed and so did Alex. I was still shaking, when I heard a slap which was enough to bring me back to reality. I saw Alex holding his collar.

"Don't you dare to try your filth on my wife."

"Relax Alex, I was just kissing her. Its a normal courtesy. I bet you also kissed when you saw her first time. She is a beauty."

I felt nauseous and the dizziness was hitting me with full force.

"Right, its normal courtesy. You are correct. Sorry about my behavior. It was not appropriate." Alex left with saying these words.

How could he leave? So he is leaving me with this man, who just kissed my hand. I think for him, kiss on a hand is not a big deal.

"May I have a dance with you?" He moved forward with lust in his eyes. Suddenly someone tapped his shoulder and I saw security guards, black suit, glasses. They were all looking same, muscular. They very politely took him with them.

"OH, this ought a be good." Shelly was laughing.

"What's good?" I asked her and she took me to the back side of venue. Alex was there. I can see why those girls were shooting daggers at me. He is indeed handsome. He is tall 6'2 and has a perfect V shape body. His broad shoulders can easily warp around a small girl like me. He was in his shirt, which was fitting and I could see his muscles. Alex took 2 giant steps and punched him. Just 1 punch and the man fell on ground.

"When he come in senses, tell him he is fired. And if the client says anything, tell them the project is cancelled. I can't tolerate people like this near me or my family, and he dared to make my wife uncomfortable."

He had fire in his eyes, and I could feel his anger. Is he really guilty about what he did or he is angry because someone tried to touch his property. May be he thinks that since he has claimed my body, no one can touch me. He started to come our way, when Shelly pulled me.

"Come now, if BBro sees us here, we will be the next victim to his wrath." I was about to go when I saw Alex going back.

"Actually, don't tell him anything. Let him come to office. Lets have a client meeting. Then I will show him what insult feels." I saw a wicked smile on his face and I was curious to know what he will do in the meeting.
