Amethyst's POV
I woke up a lot earlier than usual.
I cooked up some food and packed it in lunch boxes.
Then, I woke up Amara.
"Hey" I said softly.
"Amy? Isn't it too early?" she asked still sleepy.
"We're going to the beach to watch the sunrise" I told her.
She opened her eyes wide.
"Really?" she asked excitedly.
I nodded with a chuckle.
She got up with a big smile on her face.
"Go and prepare. I'll wait for you in the living room" I told her and she nodded vigorously before getting off the bed and heading to the bathroom.
I smiled.
I went to the living room and prepared some other things that we needed.
I planned on having a picnic by the seaside for our breakfast.
I researched ways to keep a stress free environment for a pregnant woman last night and found a lot of things to keep Ara's environment stress free.
So I came up with a walk on the beach and a picnic to add up to it.
Amara loved the beach so I knew she'd love the idea.
I also took a day off from work and I planned on splitting my days working in the office and working at home.
That way, I can keep an eye on Ara even when I'm working.
It won't be easy but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to ensure that my sister is in a good state.
After a while, Ara came out wearing a yellow sundress with a white inner short sleeve inner top.
"Are you ready?" I asked her.
Ara nodded vigorously.
I chuckled.
"Let's go" I said as I carried the picnic basket that I prepared.
"What's that?" Ara asked with an excited smile.
"It's our breakfast. We'll have a picnic by the beach" I told her.
"Oh my gosh! Yes!" Ara cheered excitedly.
"Okay, missy we need to go so we can see the sunrise" I told her and she nodded excitedly.
We left my apartment and made our way to the parking lot where my car was.
"What time will Ady arrive?" Ara asked me.
"He arrives before lunch, I think" I told her and she nodded.
"Won't you be at work then?" Ara asked curiously.
I shook my head.
"I took a day off for today" I told her and she smiled at me.
I saw her eyes tear up.
"You took a day off from work for me?" she asked as she pouted and her eyes watered.
I chuckled a bit.
"Yes. Yes, I did" I said and she hugged me tightly.
"You're the best sister any girl could ever have" she said and I smiled.
We arrived in the parking lot and went to my car.
Ara got on and I placed the basket in the back seat.
I went to the driver's seat and started the car before driving off.
"Go ahead and play your favorite songs" I told Ara.
She smiled and excitedly connected her phone to my speakers and played her favorite songs.
We had very different tastes in musics but I felt relieved whenever I saw Ara relaxed.
I wanted her to forget the things that stressed her out.
And now that she was able to tell me what happened, I think she's more relaxed now that someone she trusts knows and understands her.
"This is so much fun" Ara said cheerfully as she danced in her seat.
I chuckled.
"Really? We'll try to do this often then" I said and Ara looked at me in shock.
"Really? You mean it?" she asked and I nodded.
"If it makes you feel happy, yes" I said and Ara cheered in glee.
"Yey!" she cheered and continued dancing.
I smiled.
After a while, we reached the beach just before the sun could rise.
Ara was the first to get off as she immediately ran to the sand.
I laughed and got the picnic basket from the back before following her.
Ara went straight to the water as she removed her sandals and got her feet wet.
I shook my head with a smile as I placed the picnic basket on the sand.
"Amy! Amy, look!" Ara shouted from where she was as she pointed at her feet.
I chuckled.
I took out the picnic blanket and laid it down the sand.
Then, I started to take out the lunch boxes and laid it down neatly on the blanket.
I covered it with a cloth for a moment as I stood up to go to Ara.
The sun was starting to rise.
Amara and I both looked at the sunrise as we stood side by side.
"It's beautiful" Ara muttered.
"It is, isn't it?" I agreed with her.
Ara and I enjoyed the scenic view together.
"When I give birth, I want my baby to enjoy the sunrise like this too" Ara said and I lookes at her.
She was tearing up again.
"I want her to enjoy little things like this because we never got to when we were just kids" she said as she looked at me.
"I'll show him or her what love and happiness are and how much more important it is than just having money and power" she said as a tear fell from her eye.
I sighed as I pulled her to me for a hug.
"I know you'll make a wonderful mom, Ara" I said and she hugged me tighter.
I caressed her back and then, she looked at me.
"And you'll be the best aunt in the whole entire world" she said with a big smile on her face.
I smiled.
"I'll do my best" I said and she smiled.
We ended up taking some pictures together to keep as a memory.
Then, we went back to our picnic spot and had our breakfast together.
"I think I want to have a house near a beach after I give birth. I want to raise my baby in a peaceful environment like this" Ara suddenly said.
"Really? Do you have a place in mind?" I asked her.
"I think I really like Hawaii" she said with a shrug.
I smiled.
"That sounds great" I said and she smiled.
"But then that would be too far away from you and Ady" she said and pouted.
That's true.
New York was already far away from California.
But New York from Hawaii was even further.
"Do what you think will be better for you and your baby. I wouldn't mind visiting. Who knows? Maybe I can find fashion inspirations in Hawaii when I come to visit" I said and Ara smiled.
"Sounds good! Then, we can visit you for the holidays" Ara suggested.
I chuckled and nodded.
"Sounds like a good idea" I said.
"But what about Ady?" she suddenly remembered.
"Ady will have to adjust for us" I said with a shrug and Ara giggled.
We talked about some more stuffs about what Ara wanted to do in the future.
Her plans already included the child on her womb but not the father of the child.
She told me last night who it was but I didn't quite know who the person is exactly.
And I couldn't be bothered to know.
Atleast not yet.
I didn't want to be nosy.
All I know for now is that guy is a total player.
Boys.
After breakfast, Ara and I packed up and we took a walk after I returned the picnic basket in my car.
"How about you, Amy?" Ara suddenly asked as we walked.
"What about me?" I asked.
"What are your future plans?" she asked me.
I thought about it.
What are my plans?
I've been in the fashion industry for 7 years.
I've been independent for 7 years.
Not once did it cross my mind to plan for my future.
I always just went with the flow of things.
"I don't know. I've never thought of it" I admitted.
"Why not? You're already 25. Don't you want to get married? Have a baby and a family?" Ara asked curiously.
"I didn't even think of building a family. I was too focused on work to think of such things" I confessed.
"Amethyst!" Ara scolded and I chuckled.
"You really haven't had a boyfriend ever since you were here in New York?" Ara asked and I nodded.
"Pretty much" I said.
"No one ever tried to court you? Ask you on a date? Flirt with you?" she asked.
"There were a few. Just a few but I declined them in an instant" I said with a shrug.
Amy frowned at me.
"But why?" she asked.
"It's a waste of time" I told her.
Ara pouted at me and I chuckled.
"Look, Ara. Just having you, Ady, Celine, Miss Katrina in my life is more than just enough for me. And then there's also going to be my niece or nephew. I have enough people in my life to be contented with" I said.
Ara sighed.
"Fine. I'll let you stick with that for now. You're not that old yet, anyway" she said and we both chuckled.
After our little walk, we went back to my car and drove back home.
We even stopped to go to a cafe and had some pastries as snacks for take out.
We ate and sang in the car.
When we got back to my apartment, Ara went back to her room and took a nap before we had to pick up Ady later.
I on the other hand, started to do some cleaning in the apartment because Ady has a mild case of OCD.
Well, not really.
He's just very keen with having a clean and organized environment.
As I was cleaning, my phone started ringing.
I answered it and it was my assistant.
"Hello, miss Wright. I'm so sorry for calling you in your day off but I thought you'd want to know that someone contacted the office asking for you specifically"
My brows furrowed curiously.
"Me specifically?" I asked to make sure.
"Yes, miss. You specifically"
"Why?" I asked.
"They said they had something you own, miss"
My brows furrowed even more.
Something I own?
"What should I tell them, miss?"
I thought about it.
I don't think I have something important that I left somewhere.
But if it is something important, then maybe I need it back.
"Please tell them to kindly send it back to the office" I said.
"Okay, miss Wright. Is that all?"
"Yes and do send my thanks" I replied.
"Okay, miss. I'll do just that"
"Okay. Thank you" I said.
"You're welcome, miss Wright"
Then, the call ended.
After the call, I changed into another set of clothes that I can wear to pick up Ady from the airport and wear it for lunch outside.
Then, I woke up Ara.
After she got dressed, we made our way to the airport.
I can tell that Ara was anxious even when we played her favorite songs.
I couldn't blame her.
We were talking about Ady after all.
Our eldest brother.
The most protective one of us all.
Ady isn't scary.
Atleast not to us.
He always treats us like we were made of something fragile.
He's caring, loving and sweet.
But he's a completely different person when he's in his business mode.
And an even more different person when he's in his protective eldest brother mode.
I remember how opposed he was of me running away from home.
But he also knew that I couldn't take it anymore at home.
He even considered running away with me and leaving his studies.
Ara was the same.
We didn't want to part but I couldn't bare it any more.
Ady and Ara only stayed because I begged them to.
It was uncertain what was going to happen to me when I left that time and I didn't want to ruin their lives with mine.
So when I left, Ady would always try to support me financially in secret.
Although, I often refused.
Anyways, I'm completely fine now so there's really nothing much to worry about.
We finally arrived at the airport and we waited for Ady outside.
Then, I saw the familiar face of my brother.
"Ady!" Ara called out excitedly as she rushed to our brother.
Ady caught Ara in his arms and hugged her with a smile.
I stayed in my spot as I watched them.
Ady squeezes Ara's face as she said something to her and Ara nodded.
Then, they turned to look at me as they made their way to my spot.
"Is this how you welcome your big brother?" he asked.
I chuckled and made my way to him.
Ady opened his arms and engulfed me in a warm hug.
"It's been so long, Amy. I missed you so much" he said and I smiled.
"It has, hasn't it? I missed you too, Ady" I said and he smiled before giving me a kiss on the top of my head.
Ghad, I missed having my siblings around.
Finally, we were able to meet again.
Our little reunion.
