I gently massaged the bridge of my nose as I set the paperwork I had been working on down on my desk. It had been several days since I had last spoken to Devon, not since the moment I kicked him out of the house.
What had transpired was the culmination of a heated discussion about Grant, which had escalated into a massive argument. The fallout from that confrontation had left both of us in a tough spot.
I found myself unable to join Adrien when he went to visit his father's house, as relations between Devon and me were quite strained.
In the end, Adrien decided to go with Devon, and he returned only a few hours later, just before lunch. Devon simply dropped him off and left without making any attempt to speak with me.
