Chapter 33

Nikolai I watched her closely, my claws protruded with my eyes wide open, her body went pale with horror but another part of her remained defiant. She was standing with her words. “Come to me, human.” I ordered and they gave way as she walked towards me. I could feel it inside of me, I could feel the bond, thriving hard, my lycan was suddenly excited but I had pushed him down. I was stifling a growl, giving the human multiple chances to take back her words and flee for her life. “Mate.” She repeated the words tenderly, everyone stared at her with shock, like she was trying to get herself killed. “King Nikolai please, forgive the human, she’s daft and I’m sure this is merely a misunderstanding, she must be drunk or going crazy.” Ashley cried out as she rushed over, grabbing the human. She tried to pull her away but she refused, shaking her head slowly. “I’m in my right senses… He is mate.” She insisted as she pulled her hand away and Ashley’s face went red with terror. “No… you’re insane! Are you trying to get yourself killed! This is the grand king!” She screamed and the human didn’t bulge. “Everyone out, now.” I thundered and Ashley went on her knees, trying to beg for the human but my glare made her rise immediately as she dashed away with the other sluts. My Lycan was at the edge, trying to break free, he wanted to see her, he was excited and I hated it. We can’t have another mate, it’s impossible, Amelia was my only mate, only her is worthy of being my mate! It’s impossible for a human to feel the bond, a human can never feel the mate bond. Humans can be bonded to wolves, wolves can get bonded to Lycans but it was impossible for humans to be bonded to Lycan. It had never happened and I wasn’t about to start such in my reign, this was impossible. “Do you know what you’re saying, human?” I demanded, moving in a circle around her and she nodded. It felt like scales had suddenly fallen off her eyes as she began to tremble, her fears filled the air, she was conscious of her words now and she looked around with terror. “I… I’m sorry…” She stammered, taking a step back while a cruel smile spread across my face. I wanted to tie her to the wall and whip her, watch blood and tears stream down her body while her screams filled the entire palace. The smile broadened but at the same time I felt different and I hated it. My lycan was against such thoughts, he wanted her and suddenly, I felt a strong urge overtake me as I pushed her to the wall softly, my hand wound around her neck. She let out a soft whisper, staring at me with her big hazel eyes. She was terrified but at the same time she gazed at me tenderly. I hated it, I wanted to feel her fears while my lycan wanted her relaxed. He was going crazy inside of me with her fears in the air. “You think you can be my mate… A mere human like you has the guts to call me mate.” I snarled and she swallowed, meaning her head softly. I chuckled as I let her go, grabbing her arm roughly. “Dhave what it takes to be mine? Can you take my full length even on a full moon? The beast is being kind by not knotting you but can you survive the knot? Can you hunt with me? Can you run with my wolf? Do you think it is possible for Lycans and humans to have kids? It’s impossible, Lycans will always be pure bloods, no halfcasts.” I whispered through gritted teeth and she just stared at me with fear, her lips quivering while her legs trembled. My Lycan was weak and I hated it, I wanted him to be cruel and domineering, the way he was with other people. The mate bond could be fake, humans were capable of anything so trusting then was never an option. This could be a scheme to continue what they never got to finish. To my astonishment, I heard a loud snarl, it was the beast. He growled again as he walked inside. I turned to look at the human, she was panting heavily, sweating profusely while trying very hard to keep herself still. “Mate.” The words left her lips faintly, it was barely audible but I heard it loud and clear. Red flashed in front of me, I snarled, slamming her to the wall as I grabbed her neck. “You b***h, what the hell have you done?” I growled, the beast rushed at me, snarling and I released her, making her fall to the ground as she began to cough slightly, trying to catch her breath. The beast glared at me, ready to battle with me. I scoffed. She had done something to him, the both of us. This explained everything, the beast helping her, the way he showed up to every situation that endangered her life. It also explained why I couldn’t get her out of her head, why she occupied my head at odd hours and why I couldn’t hit her, it was my wolf. He was restricting me from touching his mate and I hated it, I gritted my teeth, clenching my fists. Gosh I wanted to have her whipped and punished until she confessed to her evil deeds. I knew she had done something, she was human, she was never meant to feel the mate bond. She whimpered on the floor, her head bowed and I gritted my teeth as I felt my wolf claw at my insides, trying very hard to get out. There was no way I’d ever allow him to come out around her, he was going to do something crazy and I couldn’t allow that to happen. “Out!” I thundered and she bolted to her feet, dashing out of the chamber while the guards stood at the door, trying to take the beast away. “Leave him.” I instructed and they stared at me with shock but obeyed my words. I gritted my teeth as I slumped on my chair, the human had no scent yet and it was crazy. How could she be my mate without a scent, argh! I scratched my hair, growling as I dashed out, shifting into my lycan before dashing out.
