Svetlana
Walking back to the east wing, I couldn’t help but think about what king Nikolai said.
Was I truly doing something to the beast? But… If I was then wouldn’t the beast never touch me? Why would he still touch me if I had the power to control him?
“God, this is so draining.” I whispered softly as I walked into the compound.
But I’m a mere human, there’s no way I can control a powerful beast that even in madness, he still has his powers.
Is King Nikolai just trying to set me up? There’s no way a weak human like me can have control over any supernatural being.
“He probably doesn’t know what he’s talking about, king Nikolai is just trying to pin crazy things on you.” I assured myself.
Maids and guards stared at me.
“The beast killed Cyrus…”
“Serves him right, we all know the beast is possessive of what belongs to him… The beast would never share the woman he’s mounting.” A maid whispered and her friend scoffed.
“Oh please, don’t fall for that lie. There’s no way the sleeping beast could’ve woken up just because she was being touched by Cyrus. There’s more to that human that we don’t know about. The beast has never rested for less than seven days, for the beast to wake up, it means she’s doing something to him and we need to find out what it is as soon as possible.
A few whispering words while I ignored them, hiding at a corner.
“Human!” Ashely snarled and I almost jumped in fright.
“Yes… yes mistress.” I stammered with my head bowed.
“Go to the beast, he’s releasing his pheromones already.” She ordered Abby tears welled up in my eyes as I nodded, fighting back tears.
Forcing my heavy legs, I moved towards the tower, wishing I could swap bodies with the maids and slaves who stared at me with rage and jealousy.
If only they could experience what I was experiencing while I remained in their body, giving them deadly glares.
At the foot of the tower, his loud roars filled everywhere, he banged on the gates. The guards were all at alert, more guards rushing over while they prepared for the worst.
I swallowed as I moved into the tower, the tears flowing freely as I moved closer and closer to the raging beast.
I pulled the door open, stepping inside slowly, my body was shaking. My insides knotted into hundreds of tiny bits, all I could see was his sharp claws digging into my skin.
His hot d**k pressing on me and trying to split me into two, his furry body against mine, sending tremors down my skin.
My legs shook as I stared at him, his eyes were yellow, deadly and terrifying as always.
He suddenly went quiet, leaving me stunned. Like there was another person in the room that made him quiet.
I glanced back, trying to understand what was happening. We were alone and he pranced around me, sniffing my hand and body intently.
His snot was cold and ticklish, I wanted to laugh but knowing I was facing my assaulter, every ounce of laughter disappeared.
He snarled and returned to a corner, falling to the ground. It was surprising. I turned around, ready to head out, convinced that he was fine now but to my shock, he let out a prowl.
It felt like a threat, like he was daring me to take one more step towards the exit.
I swallowed, turning around slowly. I couldn’t smile or laugh. Was King Nikolai correct? Was the beast under some sort of spell?
If it’s because of me, how would I undo it? How long would it last? Would he hate me if the spell wears off?
He shut his eyes slowly, his breathing slow. He looked peaceful… It was surprising but at the same time relaxing.
Watching him sleep peacefully after a full day or growling, prancing and devouring people was a good change.
I inhaled softly as I took a step towards the door, pleased that he was asleep but to my dismay, the growl came again, this time fiercer and resigning to fate, I sat on the floor, staring at the ceiling.
Silence dominated for a few minutes and I fondled my fingers, glancing around while wondering what I was going to do.
Only the goddess knows how long he’d be asleep. Would I spend my day here, watching him? What if I try to leave in the night and he growls out of rage?
Numerous thoughts filled my head and I inhaled softly. “I miss you so much, Ivan… Honestly I regret barging into your palace.” I muttered with a deep sigh.
“God please… Please unite me back with my brother, I want him to know I’m alive and healthy…” My voice faltered as I said this. Healthy but not in a good way.
“How are you feeling, Ivan? Are you eating well and resting? Do you still spend all your day engrossed in the kingdom’s duties? Are you courting anybody now or running away from the council’s matchmaking?” I demanded with a sad smile.
I inhaled deeply, staring at the beast who was fast asleep, he looked different and I felt my heart clench.
It was strange. I shouldn’t be feeling pity for him, he was a monster who not only hurt but had killed hundreds of people.
“He’s a monster, Svetlana… He doesn’t deserve your pity, he’s done lots of hideous things to you and he’s not stopping anytime soon.” I whispered as I laid on the ground, turning to the other side.
I felt my eyes becoming heavy and I frowned, shaking my head softly as I tried my best to keep my eyes open.
It was barely working, I was dozing. There was no way I could stay here and stare at the beast without falling asleep, not when I had a sleepless night.
Exhausted, I gave in, letting my weak bones get the rest they desperately craved.
