Beta Gaz woke early. Jory was snoring softly and would have been mad if he woke him so Gaz crept out of the bedroom carrying his clothes with him. He dressed in the living room and went for a quick fly before heading off to take care of some of his duties – which included checking in on any breeding Omegas… which included Lillah. He really needed to stay away from her but he was scuppered.
In his own quarters he showered and dressed. It was still too early to go and visit the Omegas; they would still be sleeping off last nights exertions and so, considering his dilemma he decided to go and see Alpha King Keegan. The King was also an early riser and he knew where he would be.
“Good morning My King.” Gaz bowed. The King, as he was most mornings was breakfasting in the early morning sun.
“Come to join me for breakfast, Beta?” Keegan smiled. Gaz had been his Beta right from the beginning and they were good friends.
“You know what? Breakfast would be good.” He sat, and helped himself to food.
“So, what’s on your mind?”
“What ever do you mean, My King?” Gaz feigned innocence.
“Come now, I’ve known you long enough to know when there is something on your mind.” Keegan gave him the eye.
Tell him, or I will, Breeth threatened.
“The last Omega we picked up, Lillah.” Gaz took the plunge, and gave it to the King straight. “I like her and she likes me. She even said she would have chosen me if it was allowed.”
“Did she now…” The Alpha King mused.
“Don’t worry, she spent the night with her chosen Vermale, Rhyland, as required. I just… - there is something about her, a draw. Breeth likes her too.”
“And… you’re asking me what to do about it?” Keegan looked at the cringing Beta. Galcalar was quiet in his mind. They both knew the ice dragon population was nearing a level where breeding with Omegas would cease to be necessary but for now they still need to supplement the population so that their would be enough hatchlings maturing at once for Mates to be more likely and natural breeding to continue. Dragons lived for a long time, they also reproduced at a slow rate – a rate proportionate to their life spans. “She will need to provide a hatchling – like the other Omegas and then if she still wants you, you know there is no issue.”
“Yes, but what if it takes a long time for her to produce a hatchling? She didn’t have a very strong reaction to any of the Vermale scents.”
“It is only day two, my friend, you are worrying too much. She might already be with egg; have you checked in yet?” The King reassured.
“No, it’s too early for them, I’m going to give it a couple more hours so they can rest.” He nodded. “If Lillah is with egg, then obviously, she must stay with her Vermale through to the hatching but…” He looked at Keegan, pleading with his eyes.
“Gaz, are you asking what I think you are?” Alpha King Keegan shook his head disapprovingly. Galcalar laughed, the Beta was acting like a young impatient dragon.
“Yes? If all parties can agree to a suitable arrangement then I would like to spend time with her when she is between attempts.” Gaz pulled a face, waiting to get denied. “Or can I at least take her down so her wolf can run? I really think she is happy here and isn’t going to run off.”
“Alright, yes to all of it.” The King caved. His Beta had put forward a reasonable suggestion and wasn’t planning on getting in the way of the repopulation efforts so he couldn’t see a reason to say no.
“Thank you, Alpha King Keegan.” Beta Gaz was heart felt in his thanks.
“Any time, my friend. Now – after breakfast why don’t you do some border patrol and check in at the guard towers. That should keep you busy until the Omegas are awake.” The King chuckled.

Lillah woke up with a big stretch. The smell of food had her sitting up in bed, belly rumbling. She was crazy hungry – and no wonder after last night. The Omega moved carefully, expecting her body to ache like it did after Alpha Aaron would f**k her but she actually felt really good. Her p***y felt normal, not gaping or outrageously sore. There were no bruises on her body – while they healed fast really bad ones might take a day or two. Her stomach was flat and she wondered if Rhyland had actually put an egg in there. The only problem was her legs felt like jelly when she tried to stand up.
“Rhyland? Is that you?” She called out.
“Ah, you’re up!” He beamed, entering her bedroom “Come, I’ve made you breakfast.” The dragon-shifter scooped her up and took her to the table. He sat her on his lap like the night before and began to feed her.
“Um, Rhyland?” She ignored the spoon of eggs he was holding out for her. “Do you know if we were successful? You know, with making a baby?”
“Not this time, it is my fault – I should have explained what was going to happen so that you were prepared, my mistake led to the egg not making it in to your body.” Rhyland rubbed her leg. She noted he seemed even more affectionate today. The dragon-shifter took a moment to explain the logistics of inserting an egg and what had gone wrong.
“Oh, I don’t think understanding that would have helped enough.” Lillah blushed. “I just had no control, the need to c*m was too strong.” She looked at her lap.
“Sweet Omega, you were a good girl.” He kissed her cheek; a warmth grew between her legs. “Next time I shall try and satisfy you first so that you will be still.”
“I understand if you need to hold me down.” She whispered.
“I would rather not – unless you are going to enjoy it. Anyway I don’t think that would particularly help. It wasn’t your wiggling but rather your orgasm popping you off like a champagne cork!” Rhyland laughed. “Now you need to eat, keep your strength up.” He offered the food again.
“Will we be trying again today?”
“Not for a few days, my body needs to prepare another egg. It might take anywhere between 5 to 10 days.” He answered while she swallowed down the food.
Lillah ate all the food, enjoying every bite but her thoughts were churning. If it was going to be at least 5 days until she was required to attempt making an ice dragon baby what would she do? Was she going to spend all her time holed up in her room with Rhyland. He was lovely but she wanted to explore, go for a run.
Spend time with Beta Gaz, Neeri added, making Lillah blush.
“Lillah? Are you alright?” Her out of place blush concerning Rhyland. “Oh, I should have dress you, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” He apologised unnecessarily.
“Oh,” she looked down suddenly remembering she was naked. “Its not that.” His caring words had a lust rising in Lillah. “Would we still…” she trailed off and bit her lip, pressing her legs together as the arousal built, “be able to have s*x today?” The Omega blushed deeply.
“I can bring you to satisfaction if you would like, but with my hands and mouth.” He was pleasantly surprised by her question and excited. Rhyland had developed a taste for the Omega rather unexpectedly.
Lillah was about to answer when there was a knock at the door. Naked and on her chosen’s lap she wasn’t sure what to do about it.
“Allow me,” Rhyland said, sensing her confusion. He picked her up and carried her to the door, grabbing a blanked off of the sofa on the way. Making sure she was fully covered, Rhyland opened the door for her.
“Good morning, Beta Gaz.” Lillah greeted him.
“Good morning to you both.” Gaz nodded. “I have come to check on your welfare.”
Lillah’s p***y pulsed. Two dragon-shifters looking out for her. She felt so lucky – and so turned on.
“Come in!” The Omega said with way too much enthusiasm considering she was in Rhyland’s arms. He noted how she lit up for the Beta but said nothing.
Rhyland, Gaz mind-linked the other dragon-shifter, is she with egg?
Unfortunately not, Beta, there was a mishap. Rhyland explained.
Beta Gaz raised an eyebrow. The girl was not with egg and Rhyland would not be able to try again for several days and yet he was carrying her around as if in full courtship. Taking a deep breath he stepped into her quarters.
Ooo, Breeth came to the front of Gaz’s mind, is that Rhyland? That scent…
Gaz took another deep breath, through his nose this time. He could smell Lillah, that deep note of volcanic ash and then mixed with it a hot earthen smell. The jar that Lillah had selected with Rhyland’s scent hadn’t smelled like this but then that made sense as Rhyland was a young dragon, only having just hit maturity. His scent was still developing and now it seemed to have developed to a point of recognition for Beta Gaz.
I smell it, Gaz nodded to Breeth, Mate.
“How are you, Lillah?” Gaz asked, as they sat at the table. Rhyland settled Lillah on his lap and continued with feeding her food.
“I’m good thank you.” Lillah spoke through a full mouth. “Oh, I want to show you something!” She hopped up, wiggling off the Vermales lap. Rhyland had to pull himself back from grabbing her and forcing her to be carried to where ever it was that she wanted to go.
She is naked, Sarmin growled, awake and feeling extra protective of the tiny Omega wolf-shifter. It was quite the surprise to Rhyland as his dragon had seemed largely disinterested to the point of being opposed to having anything to do with her.
Beta Gaz looked at Rhyland, waiting on the younger dragon-shifter to notice what he now knew but also keeping his eyes off of a very nude Lillah while she scurred across the room. Dragon-shifter mates weren’t as instantaneous as wolf-shifters – it was less like being hit by a brick wall and more like a cold pot of water being brought to the boil; it could take a little while to notice.
“Look! Look what Rhyland gave me.” Lillah beamed holding out the geode Rhyland had gifted her. She didn’t know it but she was being rude and also risking starting a fight. Rhyland was simmering in is seat, Sarmin smouldering behind his eyes as Lillah held out the Fire Agate she had received from him.
“Lillah, I’m very glad you are happy and you like the gift but,” Beta Gaz cleared his throat, “it is very rude to show another dragon-shifter a rock gifted from a s****l partner, even more so in front of them.”
And being naked…Breeth added with a snicker.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Lillah looked at Rhyland, hiding the rock behind her back.
“It’s ok, you didn’t mean it.” The young dragon-shifter told himself and her through gritted teeth. Rhyland took a deep calming breath. If he had been a wolf-shifter then this would have most certainly been a fight but he was a dragon-shifter and they were more civilised.
Rhyland, do you smell that? Sarmin pressed up to his skin, looking out of his eyes. Is that the Beta? Sarmin, curious, pushed Rhyland forward. The sudden movement made Lillah stumble backwards. She had seen many wolf-shifter fights start over almost nothing and now it seems she had started one between two dragon-shifters. Rhyland got right in Gaz’s face but the Beta didn’t flinch.
It’s ok, Beta Gaz spoke into her mind, you aren’t in danger.
Did I make Rhyland mad at you? She asked back, legs trembling.
A little, Gaz chuckled, but this, is not that.
Lillah sighed relieved and watched as Rhyland leant closer and sniffed the Beta.
“Mate.” Rhyland said in quiet surprise.
Did you hear that! Lillah, oh by the Goddess Lillah they are MATES! Neeri squealed and danced with delight. We are the luckiest Omega that ever lived. Now we can have both.
Or neither, Lillah replied sullenly, they have each other now.
Lillah, Neeri soothed, dragon-shifters are protective, they are also hoarders, and they live in throuples… they will want us.
