My name is Ally, Ally Foster. I'm a high school senior. I'm a bit of a book worm. Mostly reading steamy romance novels. What can I say? I love my fantasy world. Probably because I can't see any one falling for me the way the guys do in my books. Or the way 2 people find each other in the most romantic and magical way. Yeah, never going to happen. This is reality. And it sucks.
I love myself and my looks. I'm no size 2. I have curves. My friends say I have an hour glass figure with a butt and thighs that give me that perfect figure that says not all women have the same body. And I love that.I have long light brown hair that reaches almost down to my butt, an oval-shaped face with soft features. Like I said, I love the way I look. I'm not conceited or anything. But I was taught from a young age that everyone will find something they don't like about you, but as long as you love yourself, then nothing else matters.
I'm sitting in the court yard at school while reading my book during lunch. Usually I eat with my 2 best friends Sadie and Alex, but today I couldn't find them. That and I was pissed at Alex, (my guy friend) so I didn't really care to see him. I get back to my reading and day dreaming about the words that dance across the page, like what it would be like to get caught off guard by someone who loves you so much they would do anything for you. Today's book, however, leads me in a different direction than I thought. It's a book about how this girl didn't know her best friend was in love with her. They had been best friends for years. She was so in love with him. And he in love with her. So they never knew they had feelings for each other till later. It's a good read, but how do you not know a thing like that? All the signs were there. Good for the author though, because I can't put the book down.
Just as it was starting to get good, the bell rings. Lunch is over. All for the best, I guess. I should save the good part for when I get home. Just as I'm packing up my stuff, I hear someone clearing their throat behind me. "huh hmm." I look behind me and see Alex standing there. And I roll my eyes, turning my back to him again.
Alex is about 5'9'' with a, how do I describe him? Ya I guess like that, he is skinny jock/nerd. Tall like a basketball player but skinny like a swimmer. He has jet black medium-length hair, a small oval-shaped face with strong features. A lot of girls find him attractive, but all I see is my best friend. Even if I am mad at him, he will always be my best friend. He has been since 6th grade.
"Hey Ally, reading again? What is today's book? Another loooove story?" He says chuckling while walking closer to me.
"What do you want Alex?" I said, super annoyed.
"Awe come on Ally, don't be like that. I've apologized 100 times."
"Ya well that's all fine and dandy, but you were a complete ass last night. A simple apology won't make that just go away." I said and turned to walk into the hallway. I had almost made it to my locker when Alex ran up to me.
"Look, I had a really shitty night. My parents were fighting again and I just lost my s**t. I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I'm sorry. It wont happen again." He looks at me with puppy dog eyes, hopeful I'll forgive him.
"Ugh why do you always make that face at me?" I ask as I roll my eyes.
"Because it works, and you know you can't stay mad at me forever."
"I hate you."
"No you don't you love me."
"You're an ass."
"Yes, but I'm your ass." We both laugh as he wraps me up in a hug.
"OOOOH what do we have here? A little love session? How cute." He says in a mocking tone.
I turned to look to see none other than Scott. The ass wipe of the century. Scott is considered the school hottie/bad boy/player. Every girl wants him, and every jock looks up to him like he is some kind of god. He has dirty dishwater blonde hair, that is kind of scraggly, strong facial features with a chiseled jaw line, and a body that screams out to get your attention. He really does have a body like a god. (What, I'm allowed to look? Don't judge me.) Scott is a football player, he is built like a brick house. I like to call him a younger version of Channing Tattum. So hot. Wait, get your head on straight. Shake it off. Remember he is an ass.
"What do you want, Scott?'
"Oh you know, just getting the latest scoop on the school prude. Not so innocent are we Ally?" He said with a s**t-eaten grin on his face.
"Shut the f**k up Scott." My other best friend, Sadie, says as she shoves her way past him.
Sadie has short brown hair, with a long oval-shaped face. She is small in stature. She is skinny with some small curves, but that girl knows how to kick some ass. She is small but she is mighty. She has tried to get me to learn how to stand up for myself, but I'm still learning how to do that.
"Don't you have anything better to do, or are you just that pathetic and lonely that you have to watch someone else get off?" She asked as Alex and I try and hold in our laughter.
"f**k you Sadie," Scott said.
"Awe you wound me Scott." Sadie says as Scott storms off. Alex and I burst into laughter, yup that's our best friend.
"So I see he is as lovely as ever." She says as we start walking to class.
"Yup, same old Scott bullshit." Alex says.
"Hey, where were you 2 today? I didn't see you guys anywhere at lunch."
"Don't look at me, I'm out. See you guys after school." Alex looked back at Sadie again with a look I couldn't decipher, then back at me and ran off down the hall. Sadie looked down the hall, then back at me. Just as she opened her mouth to say something, the warning bell rang.
"Saved by the bell." She says as she turns and starts rushing towards her classroom.
"This isn't over!!!" I yelled towards her. Sadie just turns and gives me a big smile and waves, then disappears into her class.
I walked into my classroom, "Only my friends", I thought as I went to find my seat. I usually sit in the back of the class, close to the window. I finished the next 2 chapters for this class, so I get to just relax and daydream. Or read my book. Before I know it, I'm in my last class of the day. Once again, I find my seat in the back of the class. I pull my book out and start reading. Just as I can start to visualize what is going on in my book, a loud thud from a backpack pulls me back to reality. I look up expecting to see Jace. Jace usually sits by me. He reminds me of Spencer from Criminal Minds. Only a high school version. Only I don't see Jace. It's Scott. He looks at me then takes the seat next to me. He turns slightly towards me and stares.
"Umm, can I help you?"I ask as I look back at my book. He just smiles softly.
"Why do I get under your skin so badly?" He asks while putting his hand gently on my knee. I move my knee to get his hand off it. He smiles even more. I try to ignore him, but he just keeps staring. Just as I'm about to say something, Mrs. Mills walks in.
"Good afternoon class, let's get back to chapter 12." She says as she grabs for her materials. I've already done the work, so I turned my attention back to my book. Scott places his hand back on my knee.
"You didn't answer my question, Princess?"
"Your right, I didn't. And don't call me Princess." I said as I moved my knee again to get his hand off.
"Oh come on Princess, don't be like that."
" I said don't call me Princess."
" OK, so tell me then, why do I get under your skin so badly?"
"You really don't get it, do you?"
"Get what?"
"You really want to know?" I said, turning slightly with an annoyed look on my face.
"Yes." He says with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
