Chapter 11

1329 Words
The first year of college went smoothly. OK, OK, I had a few hiccups, but what first time college student didn't. Mom and dad sold the house and are now traveling around the world. Still working, but hey, I didn't mind. They seemed happy. Sadie, Alex, and myself texted all the time. So that was good. I'm currently back in my dorm room getting ready for a party that my roommate invited me to. I chose to wear a pair of shorts that reached a little higher than mid thigh with a tank top and a sweater that hung off my shoulders paired with my white DC's. I have slimmed down a little and chose to show off my body a little more now. I chose to curl my long hair but just at the ends and put on light make-up. Just as I'm finishing up my roommate comes in. "Wow, you look gorgeous." She says with a big smile on her face. "Before we go there is someone down in the common room asking for you." "Who?" "I'm not sure, but he's hot." She has an even bigger smile on her face now. My roommate and I have become close friends. We shared a lot in common and both have a dark past that we have overcome. I'm happy that she is my roommate. But her smile makes me a bit nervous. As I walk out of our dorm and down to the common room I look around to see who could have been asking for me. Just then a tall figure comes around the corner with a small smile on his face. He is tall probably about 6' 5" with a nice beard that pronounces his muscular jaw line to perfection. He is built well too. Like a younger version of Jason Momoa. He was gorgeous. He looks familiar but I can't place him. "Hey Princess." Oh my God. I look at him a little longer. Is that really him? "Are you going to come say hi or just stare at me?" "Is it really you?" "Yeah. It's really me." He chuckles a little at my reaction. I can't stop myself as I run up to him jumping into his arms wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He holds onto me tightly as he nestles his face in the crook of my neck. "God I missed you Princess." He says squeezing me just a little tighter. I have no words. It's been so long. He looks so grown up and handsome. I didn't know how much I've missed him till now. "So I guess the party is a no go?" I smile a little and turn my head to look at Amber. My roommate. Scott slowly puts me down and I laugh a little. "Amber this is Scott, Scott this is Amber my roommate." "Wait Scott as in Scott Scott?" "Yeah."I say giggling as Scott looks at me as if to say "oh so you have talked about me." "Nice to meet you Scott." "You too Amber." "I'll catch you later Ally." She says winking at me and walking away. I lean back into Scott wrapping my arms around him leaning my head on his chest. He wraps his arm around me planting a kiss on my forehead. "I'm sorry I didn't know you had plans. You can go to the party if you want to." "No I'm good." I say. He chuckles a little. "Want to go grab a drink with me?" I nod my head. He lets go of me and goes to grab for my hand. I look down and slowly go to let him hold my hand. Interlocking our fingers we turn and head outside to his car. A few minutes later and a little catching up we head into a near by bar and find a booth to sit at. "What can I get for you?" I server asks as she pulls out her note pad. "Whiskey neat please. Make it double." Scott looks back at me with a small smile. "And for you honey?" "I'll take a bud light." I say never taking my eyes off Scott. "I'll get that right out for you." She says and turns around. A few hours later and a lot of drinks down Scott and I have talked about almost everything that has happened since the last time we had talked. We shared laughs and teasing comments, along with comfortable silent moments. "So you never told me what happened to you?" I ask knowing that the moment has now become a little more serious. "I know." "So?" "Ally." "You have to give me something. You left me in the dark, and then I didn't hear anything from you for a year and half and now here you are. In front of me." "I know. But there is only so much I can tell you." "So tell me what you can." He takes a deep breath taking another drink from his cup and looks at me for a moment before he says anything. "Do you remember our last night that we spent together?" The memories flood into my mind and I blush a little. "Yeah, I remember." "Do you remember what you said to me?" "Yeah." "All of it?" Now I'm a little confused. I told him I wanted him and I wanted him to be my first. What else is he talking about? As if reading my mind Scott interrupts my thoughts. "You told me you loved me Ally." He says as he leans a little closer towards me. I don't remember that. How could I not remember that? "Um." "When I heard you say that, I was conflicted. I wanted to say it back so bad. But my enemies would have used you against me. And I couldn't put you through any more hell. That's why I left. That's why I haven't talked to you." "So what's changed?" "I'm not a part of that life any more. Something about how I didn't have what it took to make it in that life." He scoffs. "So your done?" "Yes." "And you came to find me?" He nods his head. Now I'm the one conflicted. He's not in the mafia any more. He came to find me so we could what? Be together? It's been almost 2 years. I'm not the same person I used to be. That part of my life changed me. He is part of that past. Do I dare bring him back into my life? What if he leaves again? Or what happens if his past comes up to haunt him and I'm caught in the middle of it? "Ally?" He pulls me from my thoughts. "Scott I....I." "I love you Princess. I always have. I just want the chance to show you how incredibly in love with you I am." "Scott." "You don't have to answer right away. Just think about it." I nod my head and we fall silent again. A little while later, and a short drive he walks me back up to my dorm. "Can I call you?" He asks while I dig for my keys. "I need time." "OK." He nods his head. I unlock my door and turn around to face him before I step inside. "I'll call you." I say. He nods his head and bends down and plants the softest sweetest kiss on my cheek. "Goodnight Princess." He says and turns to walk down the hall. As he is walking away it feels like my stomach starts bottoming out. I wrap my arms around myself. How can I let this man walk out of my life again? He saved me. He protected me. And lord knows no one has come close to making me feel the way he does. As he goes to turn the corner the words leave my lips before I can stop them. "Scott wait!!!"
